You are required to complete both sections on this sheet and place the content in your Weebly section called Evaluation.

Wherever you use a quote from any other source, please say where you got it from or it could result in a PLAGIARISM
mark which would automatically fail the unit.

Task 1/2: Reflect on how your work fits your audience (U10:LO3_AC3.1)
Please answer ALL boxes in order to pass this section. You can include screen grabs and links to help. This section is about
evaluating how your work fits the audience you have chosen to target. Answer all three questions fully with supporting
images, links and evidence of audience/survey feedback.

Choose THREE existing professional versions aimed at the same audience/genre as your work. How does yours compare to them? BE
SPECIFIC.

Example 1 of 3
URL/link, image and description

https://youtu.be/NqB3IZpjd1Q?t=259
- For the first one I have chosen this scene from horrid henry, where the cat’s tail is moving and it changes the
outside from night to morning.

Something your loop does as well

My loop is similar to the professional animation as to move the cat’s tail they used stop mo. Whilst to make my
tomatoes swing from the vines, I also used stop mo to create the effect it was windy.

Something the example does better

The professional animation does this better as theirs is much smoother and looks like it was done frame by frame.

How you would improve yours based on this

To improve my animation based off of the professional one, I could move the tomatoes smoother with smaller
movements from each frame.

Example 2 of 3
URL/link, image and description

https://youtu.be/m74sIViigh0?t=27
- For the second one, I have chosen a scene from the Mr Bean animated series, where he is waking up and we see
clouds.

Something your loop does as well

My loop also has clouds and they used motion tween to move them up the stage. I did a similar thing with mine and
managed to move them from one point to the other.

Something the example does better

The professional example does this better as their clouds fit more into their animation.

How you would improve yours based on this

To improve mine based on the professional example, I could look more into the details used in the animation and
come up with something similar that matches with the animation e.g., colours.

Example 3 of 3
URL/link, image and description

https://youtu.be/wJmBrB71tT8?t=209 - For the last example I have chosen a scene from Ben 10 which I got from
YouTube. In this scene we see some animated diamonds on some rocks. This looks like the used stop mo to
achieve this.

Something your loop does as well

In my loop my berries that move, are similar to the diamonds as they look like they used stop mo, to give off the
effect that the diamonds are sparkling.

Something the example does better

The example does this better as mine was done every couple of frames whilst theirs looks like it was done frame by
frame to create a smooth effect on the diamonds as they sparkle.

How you would improve yours based on this

Based on the professional one, I could improve my loop by possibly using stop mo every frame to make them swing
better and not look as messy.

Results and reflection of your survey

What patterns or trends did you notice from your audience feedback?

From the audiences feedback I noticed a lot of trends that people mentioned. e.g., most of the people that
responded were 19 & 20. They also mentioned the berries on the bushes were something they liked about my
ambient loop. Another thing was when I asked what would they change about my ambient loop, the clouds were
mentioned by 36% of the responders and could have been better.
The last thing that caught my eye was that 90% of my audience said that my music fit well with my ambient loop,
whilst the rest said it didn’t and also gave it a low rating, probably due to the music choice. Lastly, at the start I
asked what people’s genders were and 80% of my responders were female and commented on the fact that my
ambient overall was good and had good moving berries.

What did you learn from thinking about this?

From this, I learnt that that the female responders said more about the berries than the male responders did.

How might you make improvements to your work based on what you’ve learnt from your audience? Be specific

Based on what I have learned from my audience I would say for next time I need to plan out my time better as I did
not get to complete this ambient loop due to falling behind and this was seen from my audience as the only thing
that moved was the clouds, berries and flag.
Conclusions on your audience feedback
Based on what you’ve learnt above, write about whether your feel your work is fit for your specific audience overall.
Remember to say why and prove it

Overall, I felt like my work didn’t really fit my specific audience. It kind of did as I used the background as Horrid
Henry which was popular in the 2000s and fit the audience who might have watched it. From the audience
feedback, I learnt that to make it better I could add more things that move and improve on the clouds.

Task 2/2: Reflect on your own skills, processes and personal development (U10:LO3_AC3.2)
Please answer ALL sections fully in order to pass this section. You can include screen grabs and links to help. This section is
about how you feel your creative abilities and processes have improved during this assignment. Answer all sections fully
with supporting images (including your own screen grabs: CMD+SHIFT+4), links and any other evidence you feel is relevant

Talk about three issues you had during production. These could be based on practical parts of the work, supporting tasks
such as research or even audience surveys.

The first issue I had with the production is time management. I started the project with a rough idea of much
1. time I had and a plan of what I should be doing in the lesson. Despite all of this I still fell behind and ran out
of time to move and add effects.

Another issue I had was having to complete the research at the same time as building the animation. This
2.
meant I couldn’t put all my attention into building the animation, I had to spilt the time instead.

The last issue I had was not knowing how to move certain items I wanted to move. I knew how to stop mo
3.
and get my head around motion tweening but anything else, I struggled with it.

How/to what degree were you able to resolve each issue?

I wasn’t really able to resolve this issue, but I did try to catch up on my breaks and at home to finish the
1.
important bits of my animation.

I managed to resolve this issue by splitting up the time spent on my animation and time spent of the
2. research side of it. For example, I prioritized to finish the research over building the animation and this
made it easier to focus on the research part and then move on to the animation.

Overall, I knew basics when it came to animating my ambient loop. Although there was certain things I
3. couldn’t do so wasn’t able to add into the building process. I struggled to resolve this issue but tried googling
certain things to add in.

Write about at least three things, which well during the whole process?
Talk about what you felt went particularly well about them.
During the process, I felt like the research part went well. For example, I enjoyed looking and researching
1. different backgrounds to potentially use in my ambient loop. This went well because I found it easy to find
backgrounds from all types of animation and write descriptions about them and why they’d be good to use.

Another thing that felt like it went well was collecting the responses for my ambient loop survey. This went
2. well as I managed to get 11 responses and reflect back on what they said about my ambient loop. I wrote
about this in the previous task and explained what I learnt from their responses.

The last thing that went well was completing the animation all together. E.g. adding the last finishing
touches and picking out music to fit with my ambient loop. The music side of it I found tricky as there wasn’t
3.
a lot of loyalty free music to download, but I finally found one and shortened it to two minutes and think it
goes well with the target audience in the animation.

And finally, write a small amount about what you enjoyed about the project, which you could possibly use in future
work or assignments. This could be from research, design or your practical production process. Feel free to use screen
grabs.

Overall, I liked the project especially the researching part and finding what to use, but I felt like it was a bit rushed
and didn’t get to show off my full potential in the ambient loop.
