C. Evaluation
Instruction: Write an Essay for following questions below. This is graded based on the given rubrics.
1) As a future social studies teacher, how will you relate the importance of preparation of instructional materials as an effective instructional tool
for teaching and learning process?
-As a potential social studies teacher, it is important that I prepare instructional materials before using them in the teaching-
learning process since they play a significant role in the delivery of the lesson. Many fields in social science discuss about
facts and are supported by documents, social studies subjects require a lot of teaching resources. Instructional Materials are
used to improve students' knowledge, abilities, and skills, track their information assimilation, and contribute to their overall
development and upbringing, to assist in the clarification of key concepts, to pique and maintain the interest of students, to
give all students in a class the opportunity to share experiences necessary for new learning and to make learning more
permanent. Furthermore, when evaluating instructional materials consider the extent to which each is interesting,
approachable, and engaging. This isn't about materials being entertaining, it's about whether it can spark curiosity and
promote deeper thinking about the content. It is important to understand the varied opportunities in developing an
innovative instructional material for facilitation and learning because these helps students to access learning through
multiple entry points. Varied opportunities help teachers to select proper content and instructional materials that are
innovative which engage and meet the needs of the learners too allow all students in a class to share experiences that are
important for new learning, and to aid in the long-term retention of knowledge. Consider how fascinating, approachable, and
engaging each piece of educational content is while reviewing it. It's not about whether the materials are entertaining but
rather, whether they may pique interest and encourage further thought about the subject. Understanding the various
chances for producing creative instructional material for facilitation and learning is critical since this allows students to
access learning via different entry points. Various options assist teachers in selecting appropriate content and innovative
instructional resources that engage and suit the needs of students
2) Having the significance and rationale of teaching production of instructional materials as social studies major, why do you need to understand
the varied opportunities in developing an innovative instructional material for facilitation of learning and teaching social studies?
- As a potential social studies teacher, it is important that I prepare instructional materials before using them in the
teaching-learning process since they play a significant role in the delivery of the lesson. The most common characteristics
that may have a significant impact on material preparation were first the learners' abilities and prior knowledge, which
necessitated tailoring the materials to the learners' abilities and prior knowledge. Frustration sets in when students don't
understand the materials, making things more difficult. The teacher must recognize whether the materials are appropriate
for the pupils' level of understanding. The target audience for whom the materials are to be utilized, as well as the setting
or neighborhood where the learning should take place, are two environmental aspects that play a role in the use of
teaching aids or instructional materials. Then there are time constraints, which are a serious problem that delay the
effective use of instructional materials in most cases the time allotted for a subject on the time table effective
instructional delivery in the class because it may not be enough for the teachers to present his contents alongside the
effective use of the materials, affecting the wholesome delivery of the content. Lastly, there is a lack of necessary
materials since materials available for effective instructional delivery are mishandled by both teachers and some school
officials. The school is impacted by the lack of a resource room for the proper storage of both locally created and
commercially purchased teaching aids, limiting their use as needed.
