Leisure/Travel (B2)-For vacation, holidays, Relatives,
Medical treatment, Conference
Business (B1) - Scientific, Educational, Profesional or
business convention/conference.
Validity Minimum 1yr and maximum 10yrs.
Entries(How many times we can travel)
*Single Entry - "Only travel once".
*Multiple Entries - "Can travel multiple times within the
tenure(Validity of Visa)".
For one entry/visit Caping is of 6 months i.e. can stay
only for mximum 6 months then need to come back
and can travel again if we have multiple entries.
 H1B (OPEN WORK PERMIT)
For persons in skilled labor.
Granted in phases first grant 3yrs then extension of
3yrs. Total 6yrs.
If without job more than 60 days will be depot.
H4 - Dependents(Spouse, Unmaried or minor children
may apply for H4)
Spouse can only work if H1B person apply for green
card and clears I140 (in second round i.e. Immigration
VISA Petition Filling in Green Card cycle).
After this spouse gets EAD(Employment Authorization
Document) and have to get SSN to work
Childrens uptill 18yrs age dependent
Childrens uptill age of 24 & full time student are also
H4(Depedents)
Childrens above 24 not able to take care of themselves
or minor are also dependents
For H4 card category is C26
Any EAD(Employment Authorization Document) is valid
for 2yrs

E3(Autralia).
Initial grant depends on project + multiple
extensions based on duration of projects.
 L Intra-Company Transfer
L1 - L1A(CLOSED WORK PERMIT) & L1B(CLOSED WORK
PERMIT).
L1A - Senior Executives/Managers and above. Have
decision making capability
L1B - SME's(Subject Matter Experts).
Dependents of these two are L2.
L2 - Spouse can reside with us during our employment and
can apply for L2(OPEN WORK PERMIT).
L1A Validity initial grant 3yrs +2+2 Extensions (Total 7yrs
Duration).
L1B Validity initial grant 3yrs +2 Extension (Total 5yrs
Duration).
L2 can start work on entry to US by applying SSN &
EAD(Employment Authorization Document)
L2 3yrs initial grant + 3yrs Extension(Total 6yrs)*
L2 EAD Validity 2yrs

6 months of course.
Student need CPT approval from University in the
form of I20 to legally work with an employer.

Get to work 40hrs/Week(Full-Time).
Total duration of OPT depends on Stream i.e. STEM(Science,
Technology, Engineering & Mathmetics) OPT or NON
STEM/Regular OPT.
Stem OPT duration 12 months - Initial OPT + 24 months
extension - OPT Extension - Second grant of STEM(Depends on
Project we are working If working for 17 months project then
extension will be of 17 months only).
Non-Stem OPT duration 12 months
PRE-OPT--
POST OPT -- Post completion
Student need OPT(EAD(Employment Authorization Document))
Card to legally work with an employer.
OPT has a catch that you will have to work in your own domain
only i.e. Medical into medical field only.
