Conversation Between Doctor and Patient About Fever

Neyda: Good morning doctor, I'm here to have a checkup because I feel

a little unwell.

Ernesto: Good morning! You look pale and your voice sounds different.

Neyda: Yes doctor. I have a fever and even a sore throat.

Ernesto: Let me check.

Ernesto: You have a moderate fever. Let me check your temperature.

Neyda: This thermometer is different from the last one you used.

Ernesto: Yes, this is being reintroduced by medical supply companies. It is much

more comfortable and does not need to be cleaned after each use.

Neyda: That's really cool.

Ernest: Yes it is.

Ernesto: The temperature is not very high, around 38.8. Let me check your blood

pressure too.

Ernesto: Your blood pressure is fine.

Neyda: Yes, doctor. Lately I have not had strong emotions or many headaches.

Ernesto: Do you sweat and shiver?

Neyda: I don't sweat, but I feel a little cold when I'm under a fan.

Ernesto: Ok, you have few signs of malaria. I recommend you get a blood test.

Nothing to worry about. In most cases, the test is negative. Just be careful, as there

has been a spike in malaria cases in the last month or so.

Ernesto: I am writing three medicines and syrup. The number of dots in front of each

medicine name tells you how many times a day to take it. For example: Here it

means that you should take the medicine twice a day, once in the morning and once

after dinner.
Ernesto: Do you have any other questions?

Neyda: No, doctor. Thank you for your attention and kindness.
