CHAPTER 1. NATURAL NUMBERS

1.1. Natural numbers from 0 to 10000

Recognizing, forming, writing, and reading natural numbers 0-10000

Comparing and ordering natural numbers 0 - 10000, even/odd numbers

Determining natural numbers based on given requirements

Rounding a given number to tens/hundreds

1.2. OPERATIONS WITH NATURAL NUMBERS

Addition and subtraction of natural numbers in the range of 0-10000 without and with passing over the
order

Counting in increments (from 2 to 2, from 20 to 20, from 100 to 100, etc.)

Multiplication in the range of 0 – 100

Highlighting the properties of multiplication (community, associativity, identity property – without


specifying the terminology);

Division with remainder 0 in the range of 0 – 100

Solving exercises with the order of operations

Use of half/quarter fractions

Specific terminology: term, factor, sum, difference, minuend, subtrahend, product, quotient, divisor,
dividend, "more", "less", “times more”, “times less”, “less than”, “more than”

Highlighting some properties of addition (commutativity, associativity, identity property) with the help
of objects and representations, without using terminology

Finding an unknown number within a relationship of the type ?±a=b or a±?=b , (by trial and error, using
objects or drawings, using the scale model, etc., depending on the situation) where a and b are numbers
in the range of 0-10000;

CHAPTER 2. ELEMENTS OF GEOMETRY

2.1. Flat figures / 2D / 3D bodies

Square, rectangle, triangle, circle, semicircle, axis of symmetry / cube, cuboid, cylinder, sphere;

Interior/exterior of a figure

Strings of geometric figures based on some rules.

CHAPTER 3. UNITS OF MEASUREMENT

3.1. Units of measurement for length

Standard unit: meter, centimeter, millimeter

(1m = 1000mm)

3.2. Units of measurement for volume

Standard units: liter, millimeter

(1l = 1000 ml)

3.3. Units of measure for mass

Standard units: kilogram, gram

(1kg = 1000g)

3.4. Units of measure for time

Time measurement: recognizing of exact hours on the clock and of half an hour, quarter of an hour

Reading the indicated time, using the 5 minutes increment


Units of measurement: hour, day, week, month, year, seasons – calculating the number of hours / days /
weeks in a given interval.

3.5. Monetary units

The leu (1 leu = 100 money); coins and banknotes of 1 lei, 5 lei, 10 lei, 50 lei, 100 lei, 200 lei, 500 lei

Euro (1 euro = 100 cents) coins, banknotes

Value-equivalent exchanges in the range of 0 - 1000
