Material:
Crochet hook no 4 mm (G) for the brim and 6 mm (J) for the body of the hat
Yarn; 6 Super bulky weight yarn will be ok.
I use Kartoplu Rubin Yarn, it is 61% acrylic, 26% wool and 12% Polypropylene, 1% Polyester.
You will need approximately 80 gr (80 mt.)

Stitches used;
Ch- Chain
Sc - Single crochet
Hdc - half double crochet

Special stitch - Hdc knit stitch

First round you will do normal hdc and the next round you will work in the loop that is
behind back stitch (called 3rd stitch or hidden stitch)
Pattern;

Brim:

Chain 9, work 1sc in 2nd ch from the hook (8) turn

Work only in back stitch
Ch1, 1sc in same stitch, 1sc until end of the row, turn and repeat this row until you reach the size
for a child i made 46 rows and for adult i made 50 rows. If you work with some different yarn, or
you want to make your hat bigger or smaller than the sizes i offered, you can very easy adjust it
by adding more rows or making less rows than i wrote. Head circumference approximately for a
child is 18 inch and for adult 20 inch.
Shape the brim by connecting last row with beginning chain, you can connect it by making slip
stitch or by sewing it.

Body

Note;
- We will work this hat in rounds, make sure that you have stitch marker so you can know where
is the beginning of round
- Hat is made with hdc knit stitch, please read stitch instruction in previous page.

After you shape the brim start woking the body of the hat from up side of your brim.
Start with ch2 and making 1hdc all around so in the end you will get same amount of stitches as
there is rows in the brim. For example if you make brim to be 50 rows, when you start to make
body of the hat you must have 50 stitches. After you finish first round start using stitch marker
and from 2nd round until the last round of the hat work 1 hdc knit stitch in all stitches around and
last round always make 1 sc knit stitch.
To make child size, make body of the hat total 11 rounds, and to make adult size make 13 rounds.

After you finish your hat, just sew or make slip stitch in up part of the hat to close it.
After you wear hat it will form little ears on sides but i like sewing 1 stitch somewhere in 10th
round, from both sides, so it gives more visible ears, check the photo in next page.
