I. Task 1
Next month I am visiting your country for two weeks. I hope you could give me
some advice.
 Where should I stay?
 Can you suggest some activities I can take part in?
 What clothes should I bring?
You should write an email to your friends about 120 words.

Dear Jane,
I hope you are well. I am so delighted to receive your letter and writing back to say
that I am fascinated to have you in my country for two weeks.
I guess this is your first time visit to Vietnam and I am sure you will enjoy your stay
and take back some excellent memories. You can fly directly to Hanoi, the city
where I live. Give me a call before you reach the airport and I will be there. I would
like you to stay at my place as long as you wish. If you want to stay at a hotel, you
can try Hanoi Paradise Center Hotel or Halais Hotel. There are many interesting
activities in Hanoi that I would recommend to you such as cycling around West
Lake, walking the walking street, shopping, discovering street food or visiting
famous temples and pagodas here. I would be happy to be your guide in Vietnam.
The weather here is in the spring and summer seasons, I would recommend that you
bring short-sleeved clothes for the day and some warm clothes for the chilly
evenings.
Looking forward to having you in my country soon.
Warm wishes,
Huyen
II. Task 2
Write an essay describing the city life.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own
knowledge or experience. You should write about 250 words.
The city is a densely populated location where many people live and work. In a
large city, life moves at a breakneck speed. At different times of the day, city life is
bustling with activity.
Life in a city begins early in the morning. The sun revealing itself from the horizon
allows its warm rays to land on the blue wall mirrors of the buildings standing tall
on both sides of the immense road in front of me. People rush for work and daily
activities. The streets are noisy with traffic and the honking of car horns during rush
hours. Children and office workers rush to school and work. Stores have begun to
open to prepare for the new day. Breakfast stalls look delicious and give off an
attractive aroma. With each passing hour, the traffic continues to grow. The
atmosphere in the morning was hustle and bustle.
The afternoon in the city is somewhat less noisy. Everyone was settled at work. The
road became sparsely trafficked, with a few hawker cars scattered about. Elderly
adults jog and exercise on the sidewalk or by the lake.
When the sun goes down, the city becomes more bustling and lively when the street
lights are on. Every stream of people poured into the street one by one. Different
from going to work in the morning, now they dress up beautifully, with colorful
clothes of all kinds... Under the lights, under the colors of clothes, the whole city
seems to stand out against the dark sky. The entertainment and dining area becomes
more vibrant than ever. On the sidewalk, people crowded around in groups, arm in
arm, they chatted happily, sometimes bursting into giggles. The city at night,
everyone seems to forget all the fatigue after a working day.
Life is faster and busier in cities. A city expands an individual's horizons with
countless activities during the day. The hustle and bustle of the city is also a good
opportunity for people to experience more, grow and succeed.
