Tunku Ismail Idris (Tengku Mahkota Johor –TMJ) who owns the Johor Darul Ta'zim Football Club or its famous name JDT is
one of the Malaysian football clubs in Malaysia. Previously the name was known as Jengking and was changed to The Southern
Tigers in 2012. The new nickname is based on the Johor State Council coat of arms. Between 2014 and 2022, JDT won nine
consecutive league championships. Prior to this achievement, no Malaysian team had won the league championship more than twice
in a row since the league system was first introduced in Malaysia in 1982.

As we know, mostly all players from JDT play for Harimau Malaya which is Malaysia's national football team - Football
Association of Malaysia (FAM). A total of 12 players from JDT is totally ready to play for FIFA. The problem between FAM and
TMJ indirectly involves the players who are always ready to play for the club and the country. But over FAM's action of not
nominating key players, TMJ satirized FAM's leadership for not being professional in player selection.
In the soccer arena in Malaysia, player salaries are one of the hot issues that are still being talked about. There are some
players who are still having problems receiving their monthly salaries. The difference in salary is also evaluated according to their
respective performance. But because JDT has good and strong financial resources, the players are offered with a decent salary.
Because of this, TMJ will offer a good salary and indirectly the players will show their best performance to be a competition among
the players in Malaysia. TMJ insinuated to FAM that he will buy all the best players in Malaysia to ensure that the championship is
always on JDT's side in the Malaysian FA Cup. Despite the tension between them, TMJ said he would release his players to
participate in the competition to represent Harimau Malaya in FIFA.

Here are some of the salary prices of soccer players in Malaysia :

Among the reasons for unpaid wages is the club's failure to pay wages due to the club's inability to pay the amount of wages
based on what has been agreed upon by both parties. It is an unprofessional issue and should not happen. Many reasons are used by
the team. Among them is the issue of the appearance of players in one season. They are not happy when players are not able to play
many matches. In football, players are human and they play a sport with a high risk of injury. There are also players who are not sent
down because of bad performance (off-form) and other problems. So, the issue of not paying them because of this appearance amount
issue, if not written in the contract should not happen. More painful, when a player who is injured is released by the club either with
contract termination compensation but is not paid the remaining salary on the remaining contract. Injured players are the club's
responsibility to help provide rehabilitation and rehabilitation services as long as they have a contract with the team.

Player Attitude in Signing Contracts. We found out from Professional Footballers Association of Malaysia (PFAM) that there
are still many players who are too naive in signing contracts. Player contracts involve issues from both sides. Sometimes players get
too excited about salary figures. They don't care about other clauses that could potentially trouble them later on. The question also
arises, have the players examined one by one the clauses of the contract? Or get the contract paper that day and sign. If players are not
very knowledgeable about contract content research they can appoint any individual or legal expert to help them. A contract is an
agreement that is signed after both parties agree. The club has the right to ask and the players do the same. The critical issue is that the
players do not know their rights on the contract involving them. If the player is aware of their rights on the contract, the player can
control the release clause, compensation if the contract is breached and the clause that prevents the player from terminating the
contract due to injury.
A possible solution to the salary problem among soccer players in Malaysia is that Clubs and players are advised to respect
each other's contracts. However, the identity and characteristics and details of the contract carry the meaning of a complete season. If
the season cannot be completed, the club may not be able to generate income for their survival. If the club wants to modify or suspend
the contract, they should be transparent. Show the financial position of the club to the players. The affected player has the right to
unilaterally cancel the contract due to non-payment of salary for more than two months by leaving the team while demanding full
payment of the remaining contract.
