Dear Sir
Re: AN OFFICIAL REQUEST FOR PARTNERSHIP FOR THE CENTRAL COMMUNITY GAMES
The Fiji National Sports Commission in collaboration with the Ministry of Youths & Sports and the Fiji
Police Force (Community Policing) will be hosting the Central Community Games from the 8th – 10th of
December at the Fiji Sports Council Facilities Suva. The inaugural Central Games is a competition
targeting Community Sports Structures competing in a range of sports. This initiative of the Fiji National
Sports Commission was initiated to enable trained community administrators, coaches, and technical
officials of different sports to unite in their bid to showcase their skills, knowledge, and understanding of
sports they have been trained in, through this Games.
The games are a celebration targeting youths from targeted age groups who belong to a defined
community boundary. The community boundary is the platform used by communities to set up sports
clubs with the objective of affiliating them to the various National Sporting Organization Pathways. In
realization, we have seen the importance of community plays in Sports in Fiji. Three sports that will be
played are Touch Rugby, Netball, and Volleyball.
There will be (72) Urban communities and (11) Community Sports associations from the Rural division
will be competing with 2,480 teams registered. The organizing team is expecting 28,000 – 30,000 youths
present at the 3 days program. On that note, we humbly request your good office, if your Institution can
provide us with eight (8) physios to be available as our Medics for the 3 days program from 09.00 am to
05.00 pm. On that note, meals will be provided to your Medical Staff on the day. The program not only
focuses on sports but also in partnership with other Government stakeholders in providing booths of
services to our youths.
