Mario and Julian

Key Information on the Conflict:

 Mario and Julian are neighbors. Mario is a student and needs a few
hours of quiet everyday to study and get good grades. Julian is as
young as Mario but has been forced to stop schooling for financial
reasons. He is now a drum player and a videoke singer. He needs to
practice a few hours everyday to improve his craft and sustain his job.

 Si Mario at si Julian ay magkapitbahay. Si Mario ay isang estudyante

at nangangailangan ng ilang oras ng katahimikan araw-araw upang
makapag-aral at makakuha ng matataas na grado. Kasing-eded ni
Mario si julian, pero napilitan itong tumigil ng pag-aaral dahil sa
kadahilanang pinansyal. Ngayon si Julian ay isang manunugtog ng
drums at isang videoke singer. Kailangan nyang mag ensayo ng
ilang oras araw-araw upang mapabuti ang kanyang kasanayan at
upang maipagpatuloy ang kanyang trabaho.

 Mario has complained about Julian’s drum playing and videoke

singing, and has insisted for a stoppage of Julian’s practicing
whenever he is at home.

 Nagreklamo na si Mario hinggil sa pag eensayo ni Julian sa drums at

videoke singing, at nagiit na itigil ni Julian ang kanyang pageensayo
tuwing nasa bahay si Mario.

 One afternoon, a serious altercation occurred between Mario and

Julian that almost led to a violent fight.

  Isang hapon, isang seryong komprontasyon ang nangyari sa pagitan
ni Mario at Julian na halos nauwi sa isang bayolenteng insidente.

 The families of Mario and Julian have been concerned about the
tension that the two youth’s differences have created in their
relationship and have thus sought the assistance of a third party.

 Ang mga pamilya ni Mario at Julian ay nababahala sa namumuong

tensyon sa pagitan ng dalawa at kayat sila’y naghanap ng tulong
mula sa ikatlong Partido.

Instruction:
Form groups of three. Choose among the three members who will
play the role of Julian, of Mario, and of the third party. Before starting the
exercise, the participant to role play the third party must first confer with the
trainer. Further instructions will be given to the third party.
When the third party has received their instructions from the trainer,
start the process.
Maggrupo ng tatlo-tatlo. Mamili kung sino ang magiging si Julian,
Mario at ang ikatlong Partido. Bago magsimula , ang ikatlong partido ay
kailangan munang makipag usap sa trainer. May mga instruksyon na
ibibigay sa ikatlong partido.
Kapag natanggap na ng ikatlong partido ang instruksyon, simulant na
ang proseso ng negosasyon.
