Abstraction Vital Signs - these are measurements of the body's most basic functions.

Temperature – reflects the balance between the heat produced and the heat lost from the
body, and is measured in heat units called degrees using thermometer.

Pulse Rate – refers to the wave created by the heart when pumping blood into the
circulation. It also indicates heart rhythm and strength of the pulse in a healthy person.

1. Select the pulse point and place your classmate in the proper position.
2. Place two or three middle fingertips lightly and squarely over the pulse points.
3. Palpate and count the pulse in full one minute and record it on your notebooks.
