“Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards”

As we go through the journey of life, there will always be setbacks and hurdles in the process.
The statement above is quite true. Life can really be understood backwards because as we grow
older, we see life in a way we don’t see before. Experiences from the past seem to be vivid
during that time because we were dumb and innocent. The way we deal with life depends on
how our understanding about life is. However, dwelling in the past and living in “what ifs” and
“what should’ve been” do not get us anywhere. Life must be lived forwards along with the
learnings and experiences we have from the past. In that way, we will be wiser in our decisions
in the present, but that doesn’t guarantee perfection because life itself is never perfect. What
we can do is make the most out of it and live a life without regrets.
