Abstract

This research study examined the academic trials and

coping mechanisms of Senior High School students in

Barangay Cavite, Guimba, Nueva Ecija in response to the

new normal of learning. The respondents were composed of

Thirty (30) Senior High School students living in

Barangay Cavite, Guimba, Nueva Ecija, whether the

respondent studies at private or public school. The

variable is concentrated on the academic trials faced and

coping mechanisms used by Senior High School students in

ix
order to respond to the new normal of learning during the

COVID-19 pandemic. The researchers used google forms to

conduct an online survey related to the study and used

social media platforms and links to reach the

respondents. The result of the data gathered by the

researchers revealed that stress, over thinking, anxiety

and depression are the most faced academic trial of the

Senior High School students in Barangay Cavite, Guimba,

Nueva Ecija. The study also revealed that listening to

music is the most used coping mechanism by the Senior

High School Students. The reason why the Senior High

School students dive into online learning is because that

they are aware of their parents expect them to finish the

school year.
