Understanding Housing First – Design Document

Course Overview
Course-level objectives (CLOs)

By the end of this course, learners will be able to:

1. Define Housing First as a national best practice


2. Describe the program components that align with a Housing First approach for their own
program type
3. Identify housing-focused case management strategies to apply with their clients
4. Take steps to advocate for Housing First at various system levels

Instructional approach

This course will be delivered as a self-paced, asynchronous eLearning course in the LMS.

Learners will engage with the course material through videos and text based interactive modules,
optional discussion forums, and a course workbook that provides reflection questions,
assignments, and a format for notetaking to assist them in the completing the course
assessment.

Learners will be able to track and assess their own learning through formative assignments and
opportunities for engagement throughout the course. These assignments will be scored for
completion only. Learners will be required to pass a summative assessment with a score of 80%
or better to complete the course.
