2 Project team members

A team, or project team, is described in a project as an interconnected group of people who
share responsibility for working together to achieve the objectives of the organisation. On the other
hand, Project Team members in constructing a building is a specialized Decision Making Unit that
assembles for a particular project before disbanding once construction is over. The period between
product selection and installation can be prolonged because there are numerous decision-makers
involved.

It will be distinct from involving those who are in charge of the project's conception, planning,
and design, such as the architect and structural engineer, if it involves those responsibilities that are
required to physically construct the project. The project team members who are responsible for
building what the design team has specified in its documentation and specifications are collectively
referred to as the construction team.

The contractors, developers, owners, architect, landscape architect and QS consultants in the
project team are responsible for seeing this project through to completion. Each of the team members
listed below is in charge of making sure that the project is built appropriately and within the time
frame allocated.

3.0 Process Involved in Construction Project
The building process is drawn-out and challenging, requiring coordination between numerous
contractors, pricey and hazardous equipment, a large construction site, the owner and a timetable you
were never entirely satisfied with. Six steps comprise the construction process. The process of
construction begins with idea. The first step is Conception followed by the next step, Design,
Preconstruction, Procurement and the next step is Construction then lastly, Close-Out.

The conceptualization stage is another name for the planning and development phase. The
initial stage of any construction project is conception. One of the most crucial phases of any
construction project is conception. You start to plan the building's design and the functions it will
serve during the project's conception phase. It's critical to start by identifying the project's general
vision in order to get the most out of this phase and to lay a strong foundation for the project moving
forward. The foundation for the construction phase can be laid at the conception stage. The briefing
between the client and the design team will often mark the beginning of the construction project.

The next process or stage that involve in construction project are the design stage. You will
collaborate with the design team during the design process to translate your project's vision into
drawings and blueprints. In addition to factors like the building's size and architecture, they will make
sure to take programming and feasibility into account. The schematic design, which is a sketch that
will give you an idea of what the building will look like, will follow from there. Once a rough design
has been created, you must work around additional limitations and rules to accommodate the client's
"extra" ideas. For instance, requirements for a green building's accreditation. The team will start
thinking about the costs involved in producing that area after using the sketches throughout design
development.

The third stage of the construction process is pre-construction. The project team will work
together prior to construction. The project team will be composed of the project manager, contract
administrator, superintendent, site engineer, and site safety officer. The task of visiting and inspecting
the site will fall to the project team. The site inspection can enable the project team to identify a
problem there. At this time, soil testing will also be performed. To try to decrease the number of
change orders and delays, the preconstruction team should also detect prospective concerns and
implement corrective or preventative measures. Construction platforms that facilitate team member
collaboration and schedule coordination are quite helpful at this stage of the procedure and save time.
The next and the simplest step in the construction process is procurement. Buying (or renting)
everything needed for the construction project is what is referred to as procurement. This is the point
where schedules can really start to overlap. So that the correct products reach the right people at the
right times, you need to juggle a lot of vendors and a lot of different delivery schedules. During the
procurement stage, the project team is responsible for ordering and gathering the resources required
for the construction project. Resources needed for a construction project include labour, machinery,
and building supplies.

The fifth step is the building process. Workflows for the project must be developed during this
process. To ensure that everyone's task is completed by the projected date, each team member on the
construction project will be given their own schedule. Here, organisation and communication are
essential; otherwise, someone can start construction on the roof before the base is laid. To make sure
that everyone is on the same page before building starts, a site meeting will also be convened. We
greatly encourage our clients to employ digital process management technologies during the
construction phase. It's critical to establish project processes for each team and step of the process, but
it's much more crucial during the construction phase when there are so many dependencies. A
professional with expertise in workplace safety should be part of the building team and visit the site
frequently. They can resolve any issues to help prevent future mishaps and ensure that everyone is
working safely.

The construction process ends with the post-construction phase. The project punch list,
sometimes referred to as the final checklist, must be approved before delivering the building project
to the client. The construction team will complete the punch list during this phase of the project to
make sure the building is turned over with all the finishing touches completed. The project owner will
be given access to all of the project closeout documentation, including as-builts, warranties, and
manuals for the equipment. Before you can completely occupy your new location, the team must also
apply for and get a certificate of occupancy. Several inspections, including those for fire, electrical,
plumbing, and general building, will be carried out by a building inspector from the building
department.
