Task Sheet 2.3-2

Title: Servicing Evaporator/Condenser Coils

Performance Objective: Given supplies/ materials, tools and equipment,

and procedure you should be able to Maintain fan motor

Supplies/Materials :
PPE
 Gloves (leather)
 Safety shoes
 Goggles
Tools and equipment:
 Fan motor
 Philip screw driver
 Flat screw driver
 Fliers
 Wrenches
Steps/Procedure:
1. Prepare materials, tools and equipments
2. Remove the front grill of the fan.
3. Lay the fan down on a flat surface with the exposed face up. Grasp the
blades firmly and lift slowly to remove them. If there is a C-clip, pry it off
first.
4. Apply a light nondetergent household oil that is SAE20. Add no more
than 1 to 2 drops at each oil port.
5. Spray the shaft carefully with lightweight lubricant. Avoid getting any in
the motor.
6. Reassemble the fan and test.
7. Conduct 5S
