6- ‘Dispersion of Light’ can be defined as the splitting of

white light when it passes through a glass prism into its

constituent spectrum of colors (i.e. violet, indigo, blue,

green, yellow, orange and red).

glass is less than the speed of red light through glass.

8- Violet light has a higher frequency than red light, which

causes it to interact differently with the atoms of the

glass.

9- This results in glass having a slightly higher index of

refraction for violet light than it has for red light.

in the atmosphere disperse sunlight.
