In this part I will show a picture and try to combine each picture to
make a word.
b. Discussion
What is prefixes?
- A prefix is an affix which is placed before the stem of a word.
Adding it to the beginning of one word changes it into
another word.
- The word prefix itself is formed a prefix; pre – “before” + fix.
A prefix, then, is something that is “fixed before” a word.
What is suffixes?
The new word is most often a different word class from the original
word. In the table above, the suffix -ful has changed verbs to adjectives,
-ment, and -ion have changed verbs to nouns. If you see a word ending
in -ment, for example, it is likely to be a noun.
