PASADO SIMPLE EN NEGATIVO

Este curso de inglés básico, enseña las normas básicas de


gramática para el uso correcto del pasado simple en su forma
negativa, explica el cambio del verbo en una oración cuando pasa
a negativo, muestra la manera en la que se contrae, igualmente
expone la fórmula que se usa al realizar oraciones.

Lo primero que tenemos que recordar antes de aprender a


usar el pasado simple negativo en inglés, es cómo se utiliza el
verbo auxiliar DO/DOES en pasado. Para luego cambiarlo según las
reglas.

SHE Did
IT Did

Ejemplo:

-Tolo lo que debe hacerse para convertir una oración a


negativa es cambiar el auxiliar a la forma negativa

-Did= didn´t

with contraction without contraction

Fórmula for sentences

SUBJECT+ NEGATIVE AUXILIARY=DIDN´T VERBO+ SUPPLEMENT

Examples:

-I didn’t go to school on Monday= No fui a la escuela el


lunes

-You didn’t tell me when to call you = No me dijiste cuando


llamarte

-They didn’t practice enough for the game = Ellos no


practicaron suficiente para el juego

-He didn’t tell you the truth = El no te dijo la verdad

-She didn’t come to my wedding = Ella no vino a mi boda

-It didn’t work out with Lisa and Ben = Lo de Lisa Y Ben no
funcionó

Let´s practice with some longer sentences

Yesterday I didn’t do my homework, and that´s why I didn’t


get good grades at today´s test

-You didn’t call me on time, so I didn’t Know you were


coming

-We didn’t practice enough, so we didn’t get good results

-They didn’t eat any salad, just French fries and chicken

-He didn’t go to work because he was really sick and didn’t


get out of bed

-She didn’t travel to Europe this year because she didn’t


have enough money

-The engine didn’t work as expected, because the mechanic


didn’t have enough time to fix it.
Now let’s make some sentences with the word: prefer

-I didn’t eat bacon because I prefer fruits for breakfast

-We didn’t go to the party because we prefer to stay at


home on Fridays and go out on Saturdays

-She didn’t go to Paris because she prefers Rome
