20th MSU-IIT Annual In-House Review of R&D Projects

On October 6, 2022, MSU-IIT conducted an Annual In-House Review of Research and

Development Projects which was telecast through online via Zoom. This event was an opportunity to
showcase the various on-going and completed research of our faculty. Various areas presented yesterday
were Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences; Education, Business, and Economics; Natural Sciences,
Engineering Sciences and Technology; Mathematical and Information Sciences; Education, Arts,
Humanities, and Social Sciences; and Chemical, Physical, Engineering Sciences and Technology.

I believe that all areas were very interesting, but I chose and joined the breakout room of Education, Arts,
Humanities, and Social Sciences (EAHSS). This breakout room was moderated by Ma’am Celeste and
evaluated by the following Doctors: Dr. Monell John F. Canizares, Dr. Adrilene Mae J. Castanos, Dr. Glenn
Pajares, and Dr. Angelo Mark P. Walag. One research that caught my attention was the research of Mr.
Jay Rey G. Alovera and Mr. Renebel O. Labadisos entitled, “To Vax or Not to Vax, That is the (Herd
Immunity) Question: A Vaccine Acceptability Study”. I realized that some Filipinos were hesitant to be
vaccinated because they were afraid of the risks such as death. I can’t blame them if they believe that,
but as a student nurse, my job is to do health teaching about preventive measures on avoiding or reducing
the risks of having Covid-19.
