To ensure safe operation of the kit, the DUPRINTER
must be installed correctly.
Read these instructions carefully before installing the unit.
 Safety Precautions
Warning Terminology
The following warning terminology is used in the DUPRINTER USB INTERFACE KIT installation instructions.

WARNING Indicate a high degree of potential danger. If the warning is ignored, death or
serious injury may result.

CAUTION Indicate a medium degree of potential danger. If the caution is ignored, me-
dium injury or damaged to property may result.

<Examples of Pictorial Symbols>

A circle with a line through it indicates a prohibited action.
The particular act prohibited is indicated by a picture inside the circle.
(In the example shown here, the prohibited act is disassembly.)

◦A black disc indicates an instruction, or sometimes a prohibited action.

The instruction itself is indicated by pictorial symbols drawn in white on the
disc. (In the example shown here, the instruction is ‘Remove the plug from
the outlet.’

● The precautions below are vital for safety and must be taken.

WARNING
● Use only the power cord that is provided among the accessories.
Insert the power cord plug firmly into the socket, so that proper electrical
contact is effected.
→ Use of any other power cord could result in imperfect grounding.
If grounding is imperfect and electrical leakage occurs, fire or electric shock
could result.

● Do not use a source voltage other than that specified.

Do not connect two or more loads to a single outlet.
→ Doing so may result in fire or electric shock.

● Do not place the machine in a humid or dusty area.

→ Doing so may result in fire or electric shock.

Caution
● Do not place the machine in an unstable position, such as on an unsteady
support or sloping area.
→ If the machine is dropped or falls over, this could result in personal injury.

● Once the machine is in position, secure in place using the casters.

→ If the machine falls over, this could result in personal injury.
1. Unpacking Checks

Please confirm the package contents and install them according to the following instructions.

must be installed correctly.

2. Installing the USB Interface Kit

6. Install the interface PCB unit (No. 1) with

the 4 screws (No. 10).

3. Remove the 4 screws to remove the rear

cover.

7. Install the USB PCB unit (No. 2) with the

2 screws (No. 8).

8. Insert the USB cable unit (No. 4) into the
CN6 on the interface PCB unit (No. 1), and
CN1 on the USB PCB unit (No. 2) with care
for the direction of connector.

9. Insert the interface cable unit (No. 3) into the
CN3, CN11, and CN12 on the interface PCB
unit with care for the direction of connector.

10. Disconnect the connector of the cable unit
of the downloader from the J11 on the main
PCB unit.

11. Band the cables of the downloader and
Duprinter with the banding band to fix the
connector of the cable unit of the downloader.
This cable unit for downloader will not be used
anymore.
For upgrading, use the connector
for downloader of the interface cable unit.
12. Remove the screw to remove the plate.
Remove the bushing from the frame.
13. Let the opposite side of the interface cable
unit (No. 3) into inside of the Duprinter.
Install the plate with the screw.
14. Insert the connector into the J11 on the
main PCB unit.

15. Install the ferrite core on the cable unit of
the downloader removed in step 10 and the
interface cable unit.
Place the connector for downloader of the
interface cable unit in the vicinity of the cov-
er for upgrading.
20. Load B4 paper (high-quality, 128g/m2) on
the ADF and install the top cover assy so
that the paper leading edge is parallel to
CIS, aligning the document guide with
paper width.

16. Install the bushing on the frame.

Band the interface cables with the 4 band-
ing bands (No. 7).

Paper should be parallel to CIS.

3. Checking the Operation of Interface Kit

1. Turn on the power to the Duprinter.

2. Load papers in feedable maximum size (B4)

on the feed tray.

3. Switch the DIP-SW No.2 on the interface

PCB unit to ON.

4. Master making will start in approximately 10

seconds and 1 sheets of test pattern will be
printed.

5. If printing is not performed properly, check

that cables and connectors are connected
securely.

6. When printing is performed properly, set the

Duprinter (adjusting master making position).

7. Adjust master making position as below.

* ‘170mm’ is adjusted in HELP-16.

* The center of the paper is adjusted in
HELP-53.
