Define a social audit


A social audit is a way of measuring and comprehending an organization's social and
ethical performance. This helps distinguish an organization’s goals and visions. (Chapter 2)

17. Qualitative Data


This is a type of data that is performed when sociologists collect data that deals with empathy or
sentiment from the persons reporting the social phenomenon. This asks questions about how a
person thinks or feels about a social phenomenon. (Chapter 1)

18. Proletariat?
The proletariat is a hierarchy class mostly known as the working class according to Karl Marx.
The only sort of value the proletariat can provide is their manual labor skills (Chapter 2).

19. Explain Mill’s use of troubles and issues


Troubles arise within the individual and in the areas of social life where [they] are
personally conscious. Troubles are events that have a direct influence on a person's life. The
issues concern the institutions of a historical society as a whole. An issue is a public
matter...issues are "public issues of social structure"...problems concern institutions and society
as a whole. An issue is something that affects EVERYONE, not just one person.

20. What are the components of the Wheel of Sociology?


The components, beginning from the apex are as follows: Culture, Social Interaction,
Socialization, Groups and Social Roles, Formal Organizations and Social Networks, Institutions
and the Social Self. (Chapter 1)
