Social media is a online media, with para users can easily participate, share, and
creating content including blogs, social networks, wikis, forums and the world virtual. Blogs,
social networks and wikis is a form of social media most commonly used by communities
around the world. Another opinion says that social media is online media that supports social
interaction and social media use web based technology transform communication into
interactive dialogue.
Social network is a site where everyone can create personal web page, then connect
with friends, friends to share information and communicate. Social networking including
Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter. If medium traditional media use print and broadcast media,
then social media using the internet. Social media invites anyone who are interested in
participating by contributing and feedback openly, give comments, and share information in a
short and timely manner limited.
In this globalization era Technology is getting more advanced, can’t It is undeniable
that the presence of the internet is increasing needed in everyday life, both in socialization
activities, education, business, etc. This opportunity it is also used by vendors of inexpensive
smartphones and tablets proliferate and become a trend. Almost everyone in Indonesia has
smartphone, with the more advanced internet and the presence of smartphones then social
media has also developed rapidly.
Social media is a site where one can create a web personal page and connect with
everyone who joins in the same social media to share information and communicate. If
traditional media using media print and broadcast media, then social media using the internet.
Social media invites anyone who interested to participate with give open feedback, comment,
and share information quickly and infinite.
It’s easy and it’s not takes a long time for someone in create an account in social
media. among the teenagers has his usual social media post about activities personality,
stories, and photographs with his friends. The more being active as a teenager on social
media then they are considered cool and slang. However, among teenagers who don’t have
social media usually considered old-fashioned, left behind time, and less sociable. Social
media can delete social boundaries.
In social media there are no boundaries space and time, they can communicate
whenever and wherever they are. No it is undeniable that social media have a big influence jn
someone’s life. Someone who is originally small can make it big with social media,vice
versa.
For Indonesian people specially among youth, the media social seems to have become
addictive, there is no day without opening social media, even almost 24 hours they are not get
off the smartphone. The biggest social media that is used most often by teenagers, among
others; Facebook, twitter, Path, Youtube,Instagram, Kaskus, LINE, Whatsapp. Each Social
media has special advantages in pulling many social media users they have. Social media
indeed offers many conveniences make teenagers feel at home long time surfing in
cyberspace.
Social media users too can freely comment as well express opinions without feeling
worry. This is because in the internet especially social media is very easy to fake identity or
commit crime.
Negative influence on societal change among them: frequent conflicts between certain
groups with ethnicity, race or background religion. In the name of religion, certain groups
have followers in large numbers social media tends to take advantage certain moment to
move mass in certain activities. Kindly direct social media influence on the formation of
groups social group with instill principles, values and beliefs certain to be a system changer.
Even with social media these groups easily influence stability conditions a country.
There is also a background frequent social inequality invites comments and ends

like grop/same-sex community like gays and lesbians.
From an interaction perspective social influence of social change in society happens
because increasingly how easy it is for humans to interact social media, then social
interaction in the real world will also decrease. humans no longer need to meet each other
directly to communicate so this will form a pattern growing community life closed.
Actually social media has many benefits if we use it wisely, we can use it as a venue
for promoting our business and it can even be a means to channel our talents. However,
unfortunately many Indonesians do not use it wisely so that Indonesians become people of
individualism. More and more people do not care about the environment around them.
Even LGBT has entered Indonesia because of the influence of this social media, this
has violated religious norms. Many young children say harsh words because they often see
videos and rude comments on social media. This is where the important role of parents is to
supervise their children in playing social media.
