A lanyard is a cord or strap worn around the neck, shoulder, or wrist to carry such items as keys,
knife, whistles, mobiles, or wallets.

Moreover they are used to display badges, tickets or ID cards for identification where security is
required, such as businesses, corporations, hospitals, prisons, conventions, trade fairs, and
backstage passes used in the entertainment industry.

SCOPE OF SELLING LANYARD IN UK

Lanyards are taken for granted whether for work or school ID, gym memberships or trade show
name tags, they're all too often an afterthought for end-buyers. As a distributor, however,
introducing lanyards in your product line could be so worthy. Consistent orders and reorders can
make these pieces an attractive part of your product lineup.
Lanyards are somehow used as a promotional product in UK by different brands and companies
for the promotion of their name and logo. Like promotional key rings, lanyards are also
distributed among people. Other than this, you can sale lanyards to the school, colleges,
universities and other institution admins and the companies as well as they use this for their
students and employees in a workplace. It is an effective way of keeping their identification card
or name tag on show. Moreover, a lanyard provides an easy and effective way to ensure that an
individual does not lose their credentials.

THINGS TO FOCUS ON
When you need to wear a lanyard all day, it needs to be both durable and comfortable, which is
why many companies are turning towards stretch lanyards which are easier to get on and off and
will not break. Nylon and cotton lanyards are known to be quite comfortable, making them a
great choice for employees.
Pay special attention to the size, colors, clips and writing you use. The standard size of a lanyard
is 90cm with a drop size of 45cm. For instance, if you have a wide target audience, use a
versatile color that will not put people off wearing the lanyard.

Here I put a small case study of one of a UK Lanyard brand named Hambleside Merchandise.
They are producing many products out of which the lanyard is one.

By reading this case study, it will be easy to have an idea on the strategies used by the competitor
of this product

CONCLUSION

After the whole research on different aspects and visiting the competitors’ website, I have come
to a conclusion that this product will give a tough time for generating revenues. Many suppliers
or retailers are those who have a multiple and wide range of products in their business out of
which lanyard is one. So, if we sale a single product, the revenues will be comparatively very
low. Or if not then we have to cross from many things to make it a successful launch. For
example, this product has a number of variations which include colors, sizes, shape of clips,
printing type (if demanded by customer), and lanyard stuff. Moreover, lanyard is a type of
product which is not demanded by a common buyer. The main buyers of lanyard are workplaces
like companies, industries, agencies, school, colleges and different institutions, who order it by
demanding different variations of their choice in it. A lot of customization is involved. So in my
opinion, this product is not really good to go.
