MINING ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The Department of Mining Engineering was inaugurated in 1954 as part of the Maclagan
Engineering College and has the distinction and reputation of being the first in the country to
offer a formal degree course in Mining Engineering. Since its inception and advent, the
Department of Mining Engineering has generated highly skilled and competent engineers
who have contributed to the economy of the country. The Department of Mining Engineering
has an enrollment of about 40 students per year, pursuing and seeking undergraduate
studiesin Mining Engineering. The department offers courses for the degrees leading to M.Sc.
and Ph.D. in Mining Engineering.
SOME
Society of Mining engineering (SoME) aims at vacating perspectives and offers new avenues
of exploration and voyage for the students all around the country in the arena of Mining
Engineering. This one-of-a-kind society, particularizing in the field of mining, is going to lay
down milestones through hard work, integrity, quality, and honesty for the future miners
which may lead them as torch-bearer in the prosperity of this field. SOME strive to give rise
to achievements that maintain our specific one-of-a-considering department.

Event management
The president of SoME Mr. Afaq and the General Secretary organized this event. The Event
Management team arranged the whole event.

Speaker
The speaker was Dr.Muhammad Farooq associate professor at UET KSK and head the is
ESSR. He is a belletrist who published more than 100 National & International Journal
Research Papers. He is also a Director, Convener, FYP and deals with semester projects in
Mechanical Engineering at UET KSK.
