Direction: Read the questions below and write your answer on the space provided.
In making movement sequences or dance repertoire, do you consciously consider and
utilize the elements of dance? What are your realizations and plans? (At least 300
words)

In my experience, I realized that I only make choreographies based or


accordingly to the song’s lyrics. I was too focused on conveying the message of the
song and forget to utilize some of the elements of dance such as the space and
qualities. I do consider the elements of dancing but now that I am recalled of the
elements, I realized that my past considerations and plans are not enough to make a
good quality performance.

I plan to take time on making movement sequences as I admit that most of the
time, I cram or rush the preparations. I also plan to consider the elements of dance
when making movement sequences, so that, the dance repertoire will have a direction
and will be more pleasing in the eye. Usually, because of too much consideration for the
dancer’s skills, it seems like I am underestimating, and I do not trust on their ability to
catch up on the steps. I consider time, too much that I forget about the space, the
quality, and the person.

In making movement qualities, I will make sure to consider the elements of dance
such as the rhythm, space, qualities in, time, force, and space. I will also give my full
trust to myself; to remember and take things into consideration, and my teammates or
social group when it comes to ability and skills. I will encourage them better to give
themselves a room for growth. I plan to enjoy dancing and not just do it because it is a
task from school or church that I need to comply, but rather, an activity where I sweat
but it removes my stress. My plan is to take it step by step and start by not rushing
myself to think of ideas and good sequence of movements.
