PROLOGUE

During the pandemic outbreak, we were unable to leave or

travel. The pandemic has placed an unprecedented burden
on the world economy, and globalization through events
cancellation, academia, and especially travel. But now,
we are able to travel whatever destinations we would like
to visit. Today, we are going to visit some of the
destinations in the City of Tacloban. We’ll also show you
some of its cultures on how diverse it is. And some of
their natural attractions. Let us now take a look at our
travelogue!

Sto. Nino Parish Church.

Its namesake, the Santo Niño, is acclaimed for bringing
an end to a cholera epidemic in 1889. The arrival of the
image of the child Jesus Christ in the Port of Tacloban,
previously thought to be lost at sea, on June 30, 1889,
was credited with causing a miracle that ended the
outbreak.

Next up is the Santo Niño Shrine and Heritage Museum

One of the 20 presidential rest houses built by the late
former President Ferdinand Marcos for his wife Imelda,
who was originally from Tacloban. The luxurious structure
served as a chapel, museum, and guest house, with 21
bedrooms.

Our next destination is the Leyte Provincial Capitol also

known as the “Capitolio”.
Capitolio is a neoclassical building built in 1907. It is
located at the corner of Sen. Enage Street and Magsaysay
Boulevard. The "Capitolio" is the seat of the provincial
government of Leyte. It was also the seat of the
Commonwealth Government of the Philippines when President
Sergio Osmeña came in 1944 with the WW II Liberation
Forces, which made Tacloban City the temporary Capital of
the Philippines.
Paraiso Mangrove Eco Park and Sanctuary is a nature
reserve here in Eastern Visayas. It was claimed that
during the pandemic, due to a lack of food sources, some
fishermen went out fishing in the mangrove, causing it to
be ruined. But today, it is slowly coming back to life
with the help of some researchers.

Lastly,
The Talisay Beach Resort is one of the popular Beach
resorts located in Brgy. 88 San Jose, Tacloban City.
Their cottages are affordable and the view is
breathtaking. While visiting the resort, you will witness
a plane flying close to the ground since Talisay Beach
Resort is near an airport.

EPILOGUE
It's still hard to believe we got ourselves into this
mess three years ago. These beautiful things in life can
be quickly taken away, and if there's one thing we've
learned from being isolated from the rest of the world
here in the Philippines, it's that the unexpected happens
at some point.

So immerse yourself in the extraordinary moments that

occur around you and learn to appreciate the small
remarkable things that this world has freely given to us.
From the sand beneath our feet to the sound of the wind
against the leaves, appreciate it all because, in the
end, we will only have those deeply lived moments to
reflect on.
