Foreword
This Japanese Industrial Standard has been revised by the Minister of Economy, Trade
and Industry, through deliberations at the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee as
the result of proposal for revision of Japanese Industrial Standard submitted by The
Japan Iron and Steel Federation (JISF) with the draft being attached, based on the
provision of Article 12 Clause 1 of the Industrial Standardization Law applicable to the
case of revision by the provision of Article 14.
Consequently JIS G 3135: 2006 is replaced with this Standard.
This JIS document is protected by the Copyright Law.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some parts of this Standard may conflict with
patent rights, applications for a patent after opening to the public or utility model rights.
The relevant Minister and the Japanese Industrial Standards Committee are not
responsible for identifying any of such patent rights, applications for a patent after
opening to the public or utility model rights.

7.3 Squareness
Squareness of steel sheet shall be in accordance with either of the following. In case
of any doubt arising, the method of a) shall be used.
a) Projection method The out-of-squareness is the deviation of an edge from a
straight line drawn at right angles to the other edge of the sheet, touching one
corner and extending to the opposite edge as shown in Figure 2, which is expressed
--`,`,,,`,,`,``,```,,`,,```,,,,-`-`,,`,,`,`,,`---
by the ratio (AIW) of the distance (A) from the opposite edge to the length (W) of the
straight line (measured width). This value shall not exceed 1.0 %.

b) Diagonal method The absolute value of the difference between the lengths of two
diagonal lines (Xl and X2 in Figure 3) of the steel sheet shall be obtained, and 1/2
this value (IX1 - X2 1/2) shall not exceed 0.7% of the measured width W of the steel
sheet.
L (Length)
8 Mass
The mass of sheet and strip shall be as follows.
a) The mass of steel sheet shall be either calculated or measured, and expressed in
kilograms.
b) The calculating method of mass of steel sheet shall be as given in Table 9.
9 Appearance
The steel sheet and strip shall be free from defects detrimental to service. Steel strip
may contain some defects, since processing for shipment in coils usually does not afford
the manufacturer the opportunity to readily observe the entire length and remove de-
fective portions. Treatment of any defects found in the steel strip, if required, may be
agreed upon between the purchaser and the manufacturer.
The defects on the surface shall generally be applied to one of the surfaces 3) of the
steel sheet and strip, unless otherwise specified.
NOTE The defects include holes, laminations, breaks or surface flaw.
Note 3) One of the surfaces generally refers to the surface of the top in packaging
for the steel sheet and the outside surface of the coil for the steel strip.
10 Oiling
The steel sheet and strip shall be oiled unless otherwise specified.
11 Mechanical tests
--`,`,,,`,,`,``,```,,`,,```,,,,-`-`,,`,,`,`,,`---
a) Number of test pieces For the tensile test and bend test, one test piece each
shall be taken from every steel strip to be subjected to cold-reduced rolling. For the
bake hardening test, one test piece shall be taken from every steel strip of
SPFC340H to be subjected to cold-reduced rolling.
When the mass of coil is under 3 000 kg, one test piece shall be taken from those
of the same heat, same thickness, same rolling conditions and same heat treatment.
b) Sampling position and direction The centre of a test piece shall be in the po-
sition 1/4 inward in the width direction or a position close to this. The test pieces
shall be taken in the direction perpendicular to the rolling direction.
--`,`,,,`,,`,``,```,,`,,```,,,,-`-`,,`,,`,`,,`---
The bend test shall be as follows.
a) Test piece No.3 specified in JIS Z 2248 shall be used.
b) The test method shall be as given in 6.1 in JIS Z 2248. In this case, the bend
method and the inside radius shall be as given in Table 10.
12 Inspection
12.1 Inspection
Inspection shall be as follows.
a) General requirements of inspection shall be as given in JIS G 0404.
b) The mechanical properties shall conform to the requirements of Clause 5.
c) The dimensions shall conform to the requirements of Clause 6.
d) The shape shall conform to the requirements of Clause 7.
e) The mass shall conform to the requirements of Clause 8.
f) The appearance shall conform to the requirements of Clause 9.
12.2 Reinspection
The steel sheet and strip having failed to meet the requirements for tensile test, bend
test and bake hardening test may be subjected to a retest for final acceptance in accor-
dance with 9.8 of JIS G 0404.
13 Marking
The steel sheet and strip having passed the inspection shall be marked with the fol-
lowing information by suitable means for each bundle. Among the following items, those
non-essential to the identification of the product may be omitted upon agreement be-
tween the purchaser and the manufacturer.
a) Symbol of grade
b) Dimensions
c) Number of sheets or mass
d) Serial number or inspection number
e) Manufacturer's name or identifying brand
--`,`,,,`,,`,``,```,,`,,```,,,,-`-`,,`,,`,`,,`---
15 Report
If requested by the purchaser, the manufacturer shall submit the inspection docu-
ment to the purchaser. In this case, the report shall be in accordance with Clause 13 of
JIS G 0404. Unless otherwise specified, the type of the inspection document to be sub-
mitted shall be in accordance with 5.1 of JIS G 0415.

Annex A (normative)
Bake hardening test method
A.1 Outline
The bake hardening amount shall be determined as the increase in yield stress,
obtained when the steel, after it has been given the specified preliminary strain, is sub-
jected to the heat treatment simulating the bake hardening process. The bake harden-
ing amount is used as an index for change in mechanical properties of the steel during
