I was born in 1660 of 24 April to 1731

I was an English writer, trader, journalist, pamphleteer and spy.

I am most famous forthe novel Robinson Crusoe, that was published in 1719, which is claimed to
be second only to the Bible in its number of translations.

I have been referred to or known as one of the earliest proponents of the English novel

I wrote many political treatises, often had problems with the authorities and spent a period in
prison for defending the people and not the law.
