(MUSIC) POPULAR MUSIC

-Popular music can be also called as Pop Music.

-Can be defined as any commercially oriented music principally intended to be received and appreciated by a wide audience.

-This genre sells the most copies, draws the largest concert audiences, and is played most often on the radio.

Forms Of Popular Music

Ballad - The word ballad was derived from the medieval French chanson balladee, or ballade, which means a dancing song. Ballad is any light,
simple expressive song, having two or more stanzas sung to the same melody. It uses sentimental or romantic lyrics, has a slow tempo of 4
beats, slow harmonic rhythm, and follows the verse-chorus structure.

Standard/Pop Standard/Jazz Standard - These are traditional compositions that originated from the 1910's, 32 bars in length, performed in
lounges and bars, and recorded across the world. Pop standard took the form of more soothing performance style like Frank Sinatra, Bing
Crosby, and Dean Martin, backed by standard jazz, orchestration.

Rock & Roll/Rock n Roll - Rock and roll is a genre of popular music that originated and evolved during the late 1940's and early 1950's. A
combination of African-American genres such as blues, jump blues, jazz, gospel music, western swing, and country music. Characterized by
pulsating drums, repetitive chord progressions, stepped up tempoos, and loud guitars. The rhythm is essentially blues with an accentuated
backbeat provided by a snare drum.

Alternative/Underground Music - Emerged during the mid 1980s. The genre to be rock because of its folk music, reggae, electronic, and jazz
influences.The lead instrument of this genre is the electric guitar with lyrics that talk about social concerns. Alternative music is sometimes a
reaction to the commercialization of mainstream music.

Disco - Is a genre of dance-oriented music with a working two turntables, a mike, and a PA system where one dances to recorded music.Disco
was an important influence on the development of other disco and hip hop music. Disco is a style of up tempo dance music which combines 4/4
time signature, fast tempo, four on the floor rhythms, guitar driven energy with syncopated bass lines, and luscious orchestral arrangements.

(ARTS) Processes used in technology based-arts

Computer manipulation - Is the process of altering, editing, or moving text or data on a computer. It involves the changes you make to the
appearance of a photo for various purposes such as advertisements, magazines, books, and gallery artwork.

Light Setting - Light setting and camera position used effectivity are the best processes to get perfect photographs. The advantage of shooting
digitally is that photographers can see exactly how the light builds up.

Digital Enhancement - Is the process of setting technologies related to produce an altered image in a frequency spectra with a purpose of
rendering a more usable image.

Printing - Is the process of reproducing text or images with ink on paper using a printer or printing press.

(PE) Volleyball

Brief History :

William G. Morgan - A director of Physical Education at YMCA Holyoke, Masachusetts invented volleyball in 1895 as an alternative game to
basketball.

-The game was originally called Mintonette but because it involved so much volleying, it was renamed as volleyball.

-It was introduced in the Philippines by the Americans in 1910 and became part of the school curriculum.

the court & size

-It is played inside a gym or an open court which is equally divided into two parts by a net.

-The standard court dimension is 9m x 18m.

NET SIZE - The height of the net for men is 2.43m and for women is 2.24m. Net width is 9.50m.

VOLLEYBALL SKILLS

SERVING - A serve begins each rally.A hit of the ball over the net in order for the opponent to hit the ball back.
Dig pass - The most basic type of pass for beginners. With arms under or below the waist level and arms locked, the ball is hit to pass a
teammate or send it to the opponents court.

Spiking - An offensive attack which involves hitting the ball with immense force towards the opponents court to gain points.

BLOCKING - To stop the "kill" of the spike from the opponent's area.

TOSSING - A quick hit of the ball using the fingers if the hit is overhead. It is also made to position the ball to the right place.

CONSUMER WELFARE ACT - Consumer welfare and protection act is a law designed to ensure the rights of consumers, fair trade, competition,
and the free flow of truthful information in the marketplace.

-It is also designed to prevent businesses that engage in fraud or unfair practices from gaining an advantage over their competitors.

-Aiming to protect the rights of consumers and provide additional protection for the weak and those unable to take care of themselves.

CONSUMER - Consumers can be either an individual or group of people who purchase or use goods and services solely for personal use, and not
for manufacturing or resale. According to the Bureau of Trade and Regulation and Consumer Protection of the Department of Trade and
Industry, the following are the types of consumers.

TYPES OF CONSUMERS

Intelligent Consumers - They prioritize their family's needs and limits purchases on their ability to pay.

Spendthrift Consumers - They lavish themselves with everything that indicates luxury. Economy and thrift are not in their vocabulary.

Bargain Addicts - Obsessed with all types of bargains and become easy prey to dishonest traders.

Closed fisted Consumers - They are hoard money and deprived the self of needs.

Panic Buyers - They are agitated by rumors of rising prices and shortages.

Impulsive Buyers - They buy anything that they think they need then regret it afterwards.
