    Plato Descartes – believe the mind and the body are very distinct things
    Ryle and dawkins – there is nothing extra beyond the physical and that there is
    no need to imagine some kin of ghost machine in order to understand what is
    it to be a human.

    For some people the soul is the most important part of human nature – given
    by god to enable people to develop a healthy relationship with him –
    Plato – soul is immortal which can exist independently of the body
    Plato
    Soul and body are 2 separate entities – body is the temporary physical material
    aspect of the person and the soul Is the essential immaterial aspect – plato –
    the soul is temporarily united with a physical body but can leave the body and
    move on -
