County Executive Adam Bello Kicks Off

Re-Election Campaign
County Executive Adam Bello was joined today by elected officials, local leaders, organized
labor, friends, family, and supporters to kickoff his 2023 re-election campaign. Bello, first
elected Monroe County Executive in 2019, is seeking his second term in office and looks to
build on the reforms and progress his administration has brought to County government.

“Monroe County is looking to the future for the first time in generations. My administration has
been laser-focused on protecting and improving the lives of our residents, bettering our local
economy, training our workforce and lessening the burden on our taxpayers,” said Bello. “Four
years ago, I ran on a platform of bringing new ideas to County government, breaking down
silos in our community and bettering the lives of all our residents. I am proud of all that we
have accomplished so far and am running for re-election to ensure we continue to build on the
progress we have made together.”

In front of hundreds of supporters at UA Local 13, Bello highlighted many accomplishments of

his first term in office and laid out his plans for the next four years. The Bring Monroe Back
recovery agenda will continue to serve as a roadmap for his administration’s unprecedented
investment in Public Health and Wellness, Workforce and Economic Development, Public
Safety, and Infrastructure Improvements.

Often referred to as the “Four Pillars of County Government” by Bello, these values and
priorities were the foundation of the 2023 County budget, the historic $144M investment
Monroe County is making with its American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds, and Plan Forward,
Monroe County’s first comprehensive plan since the 1970s. Bello pledged to continue to put
the future of Monroe County at the forefront, while doing so through a lens of equity.

“For far too long, County government was viewed as an obstacle to improving the lives of our
residents. We’ve changed that narrative in just four years and have ushered in new
opportunities for County government to help those we serve,” concluded Bello.
County Executive Adam Bello is proud to have the support of local leaders and elected
officials, including Congressman Joe Morelle, New York State Assemblymember Harry
Bronson, Rochester Mayor Malik Evans, and Monroe County Democratic Committee Chair
Stephen DeVay.

"Adam Bello is dedicated, hard-working, and battle-tested—he is without question the leader
Monroe County needs and deserves," said Congressman Joe Morelle. "He has guided us
through the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery with grace, and continues to make investments
that uplift families and build a stronger future for our community. I couldn't be prouder to
support his re-election and know he will continue to work tirelessly on behalf of everyone who
calls Monroe County home."

“From the start of his administration, we have witnessed the strong positive leadership of
County Executive Adam Bello and all he has done for our families,” said Assemblymember
Harry Bronson. “From COVID to crime, workforce to economic development, Adam has
proven time again that he is a leader with a clear vision of how our county government can
serve the families of Monroe County. With his experience and working knowledge of all levels
of government, Adam is an active partner in advocating for our community. I am pleased to join
so many others in supporting County Executive Adam Bello for reelection.”

"Adam Bello has been a strong governing partner and because of his leadership the County
and City Government has not had a partnership this strong in a generation. From collaborating
on COVID recovery efforts, working together on battling the opioid epidemic, working to ensure
our communities are safe, and expanding economic opportunities. I have had a trusted partner
in Adam Bello,” said Mayor Malik Evans. “I wholeheartedly endorse his reelection for Monroe
County Executive and look forward to working with him as we continue to build bridges to a
prosperous future."

“I am honored to support Adam Bello for four more years as Monroe County Executive,” said
Stephen DeVay, Monroe County Democratic Committee Chair. “Adam’s tireless efforts,
common-sense solutions, and bold vision have created success for our community and for
residents and businesses countywide. In just one term, Adam has improved the County’s fiscal
standing to its highest level in 20 years; made unprecedented investments in public safety,
mental health and veterans services, and workforce and economic development; and
addressed some of our community’s most pressing concerns. As a testament to his ability to
build relationships and work across the aisle, Adam’s 2023 budget — which reduced the
property tax rate to its lowest in decades — received unanimous, bipartisan support in the
Monroe County Legislature, as did his proposal for using American Rescue Plan funds. County
Executive Bello has earned the trust of residents throughout Monroe County, and I look
forward to his re-election this November!”

County Executive Adam Bello has been meeting with local Democratic Committees over the
last several weeks and will officially receive the party’s endorsement at the February 18
designating convention. For more information on County Executive Adam Bello’s re-election
