Adjective Match
You can use this writing activity to teach your students how to describe nouns.

Procedure

Divide the class into small teams. Try to have an equal number of players in each team.

Give each student a sheet of paper.

Write a noun from the list below on the board.

Each student has to write as many adjectives that describe the noun as he/she can think of
in five minutes. Make sure that team members don’t copy each other’s answers.

When the students have finished, ask them to compare their answers.

Each team receives one point for each adjective that matches one of their team member’s
adjectives, e.g. If the noun was 'cloud' and two students in the team wrote 'fluffy', the team
would get two points.

Play a few rounds.

The team with the most points at the end of the game wins.
