Q.1.

I am planning to apply in textile design and

fiber studies as my first choice
Q.2.
The reason I am planning to apply in
textile design and fiber studies is that the
department of textile is no doubt the backbone
of many other fields, ranging from fashion to
interior design, without the progress of the
textile industry it is a known fact that that the
industries depending upon it would suffer since
textile is one of the main raw material for these
industries. I also find textile and fiber to be
extremely fascinating and interesting, how a
single protein can be transformed into yarn and
that yarn into fabric which then proceeds to
take a million different shapes, colors, tones
and textures. The possibilities are endless and a
field like textile is constantly evolving and
changing.s
Q.2
 In the 6th and 7th century BC, the oldest
recorded indication of using fiber comes
with the invention of flax and wool fabric at
the excavation of Swiss lake inhabitants. In
India, the culture of silk was introduced in
400AD, while spinning of cotton traces back
to 3000BC.
 In Egypt the art of spinning linen and
weaving developed in 3400 BC
 In the early eighteenth century the textile
industry consisted of four materials namely-
wool, cotton, silk and linen. The industry
was organized on the domestic system
using hand-powered machinery; wool was
by far the most important fabric. By 1850
the textile industry had been totally
transformed into one which was based on
the factory system with steam-powered
machinery
 In 1856, William Perkin rose to fame after
he invented the first synthetic dye
  In the past, all textiles were made from
natural fibers, including plant, animal, and
mineral sources. In the 20th century, these
were supplemented by artificial fibers made
from petroleum.
 The global textile market size was valued at
USD 993.6 billion in 2021 and is anticipated
to grow
