The section work experience is an essential part of your piping engineer resume. It’s the
one thing the recruiter really cares about and pays the most attention to.
This section, however, is not just a list of your previous piping engineer responsibilities.
It's meant to present you as a wholesome candidate by showcasing your relevant
accomplishments and should be tailored specifically to the particular piping engineer
position you're applying to. The work experience section should be the detailed
summary of your latest 3 or 4 positions.
Make sure to make education a priority on your piping engineer resume. If you’ve been
working for a few years and have a few solid positions to show, put your education after
your piping engineer experience. For example, if you have a Ph.D in Neuroscience and

Mechanical Engineer with significant experience in pipework (design or site
monitoring) or equivalent
Good understanding of Company systems and workflows as they relate to the
Piping practice
Strong deliverable focus, ability to plan the work
Provide guidance and supervision to other engineers and provide mentorship
and check the work done by less experienced engineers
Experience required, with at least 8 years in the Refinery, Petrochemical, and Oil
& Gas Industry
Independently leads plant design activities and cooperate with multi-discipline

Previous experience with code B31.3
Relevant work experience as a designer, preferable in the Pharmaceutical,
Chemical and/or Biotech industry
Has expertise in a particular piping skill or technology
Experience of being lead pipe stress engineer for large capital projects
Ensure that design complies with applicable industry codes and standards and
Dow's Most Effective Technology and Dow global practices and specifications
Evidence of support on staff improvement/development
Experience in oil and gas industry with a major contractor or consultant
Experience required, with at least 2 years in the Refinery, Petrochemical, and Oil
& Gas Industry
Experience with Caesar II is required
Lead or Senior level experience on ARAMCO projects is preferable
Proactively provide Discipline Lead with status updates, highlight concerns as
they arise, and prioritize assigned activities to meet key milestones
Hands on Experience in CAESER-II software for stress engineers is essential,
knowledge in AIV/FIV studies is an added advantage
Ensure proper level of checks for all deliverables prior to submission; avoid
cutting corners
Suitably qualified and experienced to produce and check deliverables
Microstation experience (advantageous)
Has strong safety awareness
Reviewing of piping loads acting on nozzles of connecting equipment according
to API 610, WRC 107/297
Planning and estimating of piping engineering work packages
Planning, resource assignment, scheduling and reporting of discipline activities
on projects
Piping engineering design for new development work and existing plant
Attending and contributing to design / HAZOP and construction reviews
Providing all the required inputs for carrying out of the RCA in case of
requirements
Coaching and mentoring Designers or other that need this knowledge or
information
Assisting with resolving technical queries
Leading a team of designers and designers of different nationalities
Arranging of any of the shipments required to overcome site requirements or
discrepancies
Working as per the quality and safety requirement standards

Proven abilities in developing Piping Eng and Design schedules and budgets
Good knowledge of piping material and stress engineering
Demonstrate process control during Piping Erection and Modification if require at
site
Experience in specifying SP items and Piping Material specifications
Previous experience in the Piping Design environment (advantageous)

Responsibilities For Principal Piping Engineer Resume
Conducting stress analysis for piping systems and working with piping designers
to achieve an acceptable piping layout
Developing and maintaining project scope and schedule and discussing areas of
concern with the supervisor of piping engineering
Preparing, Reviewing, Issuing and follow up of all Piping Deliverables up to the
issue for construction
Assigning engineering work to other members of the piping engineering team
Coordinating engineering criteria with other disciplines and resolving any conflicts
arising from contradictory requirements
Performing pipe stress calculations and analysis using Caesar II for piping
systems
Reviewing of the piping layout, support mapping, support details & isometric
drawings
Keeping an accurate piping staffing plan with a 4-week forecast for the assigned
program or project
Preparing stress isometrics with support types and loading details. Review and
stamping of IFD isometrics
Becoming familiar with the procedures and techniques of more complex designs
by reviewing the design with the lead piping engineer
Determining the detailed engineering design criteria to be employed by the
engineering team
Supporting company objectives pertaining to quality, health, safety, security, and
the environment
Planning and timely decision making,
Reviewing of piping isometric drawings for the applicable code and client
specification compliance; and
Understanding the functionality of the piping systems and equipment items as
indicated on the P&ID’s
Developing detailed specifications for the project by utilizing the client
specifications and/or Jacobs specifications
Checking and reviewing of vendor drawings as required
