Hi! I like creating different characters and bringing them


to life with the help of my magic crochet hook.

Materials needed:
1. Yarn Art Jeans, 55% cotton, 45% acryl, 50g/160m (weight
2 Fine yarn, 1,76 oz/174 yds) next colors:
• white № 01
• yellow № 67
• blue № 75
• green № 69
• pink № 74
• beige № 07
2. Crochet hook 2 mm or 2.25 mm (US: B, UK:14)
3. Fiberfill, thick sewing needle, pins.
4. Piece of cardboard approx. 3 on 3 inch for gnome’s
base.
If you follow this advice your gnomes will be 21 cm/8 inch
and 14 cm/5.5 inch.

Abbreviations:
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet
sl st – slip stitch
inc – increase, 2 sc in the next sc
dec – decrease, single crochet 2 stitches together
(16) – number of stitches in a round
(inc, sc)*N – repeat N times
BLO – back loop only
FLO – front loop only
3dcCL - a cluster of 3 double stitches.
A cluster of stitches, made into the same stitch or chain
space that are joined together at the top:
1. Yarn over, insert hook into stitch and pull up a loop.
Yarn over, pull through two. (This is essentially
completing the first half of one double crochet stitch.)
2. Repeat number one in the same stitch/space until you
have a total of 4 loops on your hook.
3. Yarn over, pull through all 4 loops at once.

LITTLE GNOME
1.Body
With white yarn.
Start with making a round base. Work in continuous rounds
without slip stitches.

Rnd 1: 7 sc in the MR
Rnd 2: 7 inc (14)
Rnd 3: (inc, sc)*7 (21)
Rnd 4: (inc, 2 sc)*7 (28)
Rnd 5: (inc, 3 sc)*7 (35)
Rnd 6: (inc, 4 sc)*7 (42)

Сut off the base of cardboard.
Rnd 9: BLO 56 sc
Rnd 10: sc in each stitch around

Insert the cardboard base.

Stuff the body evenly and firmly with
the fiberfill.

Add some more fiberfill.
Rnd 29: BLO 6 dec (6)
Cut off the yarn, leave a long tail. Close the top using
a needle, hide the tail into the body.

2.Curls
Join yellow yarn to the free front loops of 29th round.
Work in turning rows with each curls.
Ch 11, start with the 2nd loop from the hook: (1sc, inc)*5,
1 sl st in the next front loop of 29th round.
Repeat for each front loop 29th, 28th, 27th rounds.
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail into the body.

3.Arms
Start with beige yarn.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in the MR, go on in continuous rounds without
sl st.
Rnd 2: (inc, 3 sc)*2 (10)
Rnd 3: 10 sc
Rnd 4: 4 sc, 3dcCL, 5 sc (10)
(3dcCL - a cluster of 3 dc)
Rnd 5: 10 sc
Join white yarn:
Rnd 6: BLO 10 sc
Rnd 7-13: sc in each stitch around 7
rounds.
Stuff the bottom part of the arm
(hand) with fiberfill. Don’t stuff
the top part of the arm so they don't
stick out.
Fold so that the stitches of the last
round line each other.
Crochet the opposite stitches with 4-5
sc.
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end for
sewing.

4.Ears
With white yarn. Make 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MR
Rnd 2: (2 sc, inc)*2 (8)
Rnd 3: 8 sc
Rnd 4: (1 sc, inc)*4 (12)
Rnd 5: 12 sc
Rnd 6: (3 sc, inc)*3 (15)
Rnd 7: 15 sc

Don’t stuff. Fold so that the stitches
of the last round line each other.
Crochet the opposite stitches with 8-9
sc. Cut off the yarn, leave a long end
for sewing.

5.Nose
With beige yarn.

6.Tail

7.Flowers
With yellow, blue and pink yarn.
Make 9.
6 sc in Magic Ring, 1 sl st
Cut off the yarn, hide the ends.

8.Assembly and decoration


Sew nose and arms between 25th and 26th rounds as shown on
the photo.
Sew ears to the top of head.
Embroider 10 green twigs as shown on the photo.
Sew flowers and tail to the body.

1.Body
With white yarn.
Start with making a round base. Work in continuous rounds

2.Curls
Join blue yarn to the free front loops of 39th round.
Work in turning rows with each curls.
Ch 11, start with the 2nd loop from the hook: (1sc, inc)*5,
1 sl st in the next front loop of 39th round.
Repeat for each front loop 39th, 38th, 37th, 36th rounds.
Cut off the yarn, hide the tail into the body.

3.Arms
Start with beige yarn.
Rnd 1: 8 sc in the MR, go on in continuous rounds without
sl st.
Rnd 2: (inc, 3 sc)*2 (10)
Rnd 3: 10 sc
Rnd 4: 4 sc, 3dcCL, 5 sc (10)
(3dcCL - a cluster of 3 dc)
Rnd 5: 10 sc
Join white yarn:
Rnd 6: BLO 10 sc
Rnd 7-15: sc in each stitch around 9 rounds.
Stuff the bottom part of the arm (hand) with fiberfill.
Don’t stuff the top part of the arm so they don't stick
out.
Fold so that the stitches of the last round line each
other. Crochet the opposite stitches with 4-5 sc.
Cut off the yarn, leave a long end for sewing.

4.Ears
With white yarn. Make 2.
Rnd 1: 6 sc in the MR

5.Nose
With beige yarn.

6 sc in Magic Ring, 1 sl st
Cut off the yarn, hide the ends.

8.Assembly and decoration


Sew nose and arms between 34th and 35th
rounds as shown on the photo.
Sew ears to the top of head.
Embroider 12 green twigs as shown on
the photo.
Sew flowers to the body.
