Why MONITORING and EVALUATING are important when it comes to PROJECTS?

In an ideal world, all of our projects would run smoothly. It would all be finished on

schedule and on budget. In reality, however, individuals may fall behind schedule because of

certain circumstances or any other external reasons. With the help of project monitoring and

evaluation, we can recognize and minimize concerns that could affect the project scope and

quality. Afterward, we can utilize the information to improve for upcoming projects.

Monitoring and evaluating are essential to every project. They are two of the most crucial

factors in the success of many projects. The reason why these processes are important is that they

determine whether a project or program has met its objectives. Monitoring and evaluation work

together to provide the information necessary to lead strategic planning, design and build projects,

and better allocate and re-allocate resources. A project unaccompanied by monitoring and

evaluating is vulnerable to failure.

Through these, we can analyze what is working and what isn't by tracking progress against

established goals, and then determine what modifications should be made to the project. As a

result, it is feasible to improve the way things are done in the project or even the mistakes.

Moreover, these provide us with clear and concise information about the project's progress.
