By the end of the lesson, pupils should be to read and understand specific information and details of the text by answering

SUCCESS CRITERIA
Pupils can:
a. answer at least two questions based on the text read.

Pre-lesson 1. Introduce the topic of mysteries to the pupils.

2. Activity 1:
a. Tell the pupils that they are going to read a play script.
b. Read out the list of characters and ask pupils if they can match the characters to the people in the
picture (from left to right: Inspector Fox, Tim Tall, Sue Snaps, Pat Plump, Lucy Specks, Dr Green,
Miss Pepper).
c. Give the pupils a few minutes to scan the scan the script and find the answers to the questions.
Lesson delivery (Assessment)
3. Activity 3:
a. Pupils scan the text to find the words in the vocabulary panel.
b. Ask them to check their answers in the dictionary on page 143 of the Pupil's Book.
c. Read out definitions from the dictionary in the following order: prove, crime, lie, statement, suspect,
borrow, robber, valuable, solve, hobby) of at least 5.

Post lesson 4. Play Stickman with a few words from Vacabulary section. (refer to Teacher’s Book, pg 14)
