1. Introduce the topic of the lesson by asking pupils about popular sports and activities.
2. Activity 1:
a. Pupils look at the photo of a skateboarder and elicit what the boy is doing. (pg 65)
b. Find out if anyone has tried skateboarding. If yes, ask whether they liked it or not and why.
c. Ask the rest of the class whether they would like to try it.
d. Pupils work in pairs to answer the questions and share their reasons.
3. Activity 2:
a. Pupils read out the three numbers in question 2.
b. Check the meaning of hundred, thousand, million.
c. Pupils read out the prices in question 5.
d. Elicit which country has pounds.
e. Ask what other kinds of money they know. (e.g. dollar, yen etc)
f. Play the audio.
g. Pupils listen and underline the correct answers. (Assessment)
LESSON DEVELOPMENT

4. Activity 3:
a. Draw attention to the words in the box in the Pupil’s Book, p.65.
b. Hand out the worksheet.
c. Play the audio again and ask pupils to listen for the sentences with these words.
d. After listening, they discuss the possible meaning of the words, then check in the dictionary in the Pupil’s
Book. (Assessment)
5. Activity 4:
a. Pupils read the questions individually.
b. Have pupils try to answer before listening
c. Play the audio again.
d. Pupils identify whose opinion each one is and write the corresponding letter.
6. Activity 5:
a. Ask Why is it important to use safety equipment?
b. Elicit answers from the pupils.
c. Pupils discuss the question with a partner.
d. Give feedback on pupils’ ideas as a class.
7. Activity 6:
a. Tell the pupils to imagine they are going to buy a new bike.
b. Ask them what they have to think about before buying it. (price,quality,safety etc)

8. Refer the pupils to the photos on page 65.
