 Observe & Record the fact :
- After general overhaul engine, still under warranty. Chief engineer inform that
during customer sea trial, founded oil temperature increase too fast.

Probable root cause

1. Contaminant blocked coolant jacket water flow, prevent cooling system to cool
engine oil.

Repair as directed
1. Drained engine coolant, then removed front water lines bonnet oil cooler.
Founded much contaminant on tubes cooler. Continued to cleaned cooler

2. Removed elbow water lines, cleaned expantion tank inside done by customer.
3. Continued completed installation components.
4. Test running engine until rated speed 1600 RPM, no leakage detected.

 Recommendation
• Further maintenance if oil temperature still high is to recondition expantion
tank.
• Perform good maintenance will longer engine lifetime.
• Always use CAT genuine parts
