Materials Required

Paper plate Tissue papers Googly eyes Pipe cleaners

Procedure

 1. Fold the paper plate in half, then cut a small triangle out
of the bottom and top. Ensure you round the edges as you
cut in so it’s not a corner but a curved shape.

2. Open up the paper plate and begin to decorate using pieces


of cut or ripped tissue paper.

3. Using a dark coloured tissue paper strip make the body


down the middle fold of the plate. Then add googly eyes at
the top of this.

4. Fold a pipe cleaner in half. This will be the antenna. Glue this
onto the back of the paper plate at the top and between
the wings.

The Thirsty Crow

It was a summer season. A crow was flying up. He was very thirsty. He
was searching for water everywhere.

After flying a long distance he found a pot. The crow peeped into the pot
to find some water. How sad! There was very little water in the pot.

The crow tried to draw some water from the pot. It was very difficult for him
to reach inside, He thought of a plan. Then he went to collect some pebbles.

He dropped the pebbles one by one inside the pot. The water level rose high.

The crow drank the water and flew away happily. He was a clever crow.

Procedure

  1. Have the children combine salt and dry tempera paint to give the salt
color.

2. Invite the children to create a


design by squeezing glue from
the bottle onto their paper.

3. When they are finished, have


them sprinkle salt over the
glue.

4. Let the picture dry, then ask


the children to gently run their
fingers over their artwork.

A “blotto” fun
Materials Required

White Paper Dilute paint

Procedure

1. Cut a number of paper squares and rectangles of various sizes.

2. 
Crease each paper square in the
middle so that later you can fold
them easily.

3. Sprinkle or paint a few drops of paint


onto one side of the crease. Lay a
piece of paper towel on the side you
wish to remain clean.

4. 
Fold the paper on the creased line
with the paint inside.

5. Press down with your hand.

6. When the paper is opened, strange and interesting shapes will appear.

Glue Stick Colour construction papers Buttons

Procedure
1.  Cut 17 squares, 4.5” x 4.5”, from different colour construction paper
(charts).
2. SCollect the pictures related to INDEPENDENCE DAY. Take two squares
out of 17. Stick the pictures on the two squares and decorate them.
3. Use glue to write the letters I, N, D, E, P, E, N, D, E, N, C, E, D, A and Y
on each of the construction paper square. Place buttons onto the glue and
let them dry.
4. Use a glue stick to add paper strip hangers (like a loop) to the back of
each of the letter squares (as shown in the pictures).
5. Insert a twine through these loops of all the letters.
6. Hang this letter banner in your class on Independence Day.

  Help the child to make welcome Banner and hang it on the door.

The Lion and the Mouse


One day a lion was sleeping. A mouse was playing near the lion. The
mouse ran over the lion.

The lion woke up and got angry. He threatened the mouse to attack.

The mouse begged the lion, “Please leave me.” “I will help you one day.”
The lion laughed. He thought, “How a small mouse can help a big lion
like me!” He let the mouse go. After some days, a hunter caught the lion
in a net. He roared for help.
