11 Activity 1

1. If you are part of the senior management team of Reliance Control Systems, how will you
convince the CEO that implementing the quality standards of ISO 9000 will solve the
organizational problem and will result in achieving a greater market share for the company?

Because the board of directors wants to see a coordinated effort to improve the company's competitive
posture, as well as to resolve System glitches. ISO 9000 would be extremely beneficial to the
organization. ISO 9000 is primarily concerned with increasing compliance and meeting quality standards.
ISO 9000 is a quality management standard that outlines best practices for increasing business efficiency
and customer satisfaction. ISO 9000's goal is to embed a quality management system within an
organization, increasing productivity, reducing unnecessary costs, and ensuring process and product
quality. The process-oriented approach of ISO 9000 is an important aspect. Instead of focusing on
individual departments and processes, ISO 9000 requires a company to consider "the big picture." How
do processes interact? Are they compatible with one another? What are the most important
characteristics of products and services? Following the implementation of this process-oriented
approach, various audits can be performed to assess the effectiveness of your quality management
system.
