What is Metric System? Definition, Conversions, Examples
(splashlearn.com)
II. Procedures
B. Review/Motivation
FACT or BLUFF
C. Lesson Proper
Correct!
Length = meter
Weight = gram
Capacity = liter
How about if we measure the distance
from your home to Palawan? Can we still
use meter as the unit of measurement? Its possible Ma’am but we can also use
kilometer.
Excellent!
How to convert?
- Bigger unit to smaller unit, you need
to multiply
- Smaller unit to a bigger unit, you
need to divide
Easy way:
- Simply move the decimal point to
where it goes
- Put zero to the empty place value
Examples:
1. 20 cm = ________ dam
2. 12.3 hg = _______ mg
Try This:
1. 0.37 dL = ____ mL
1. 37 mL
2. 16 kg = ____ g 2. 16000 g
3. 500 dm = ____ cm 3. 500 cm
D. Application
Example:
E. Generalization
