Project location/area: Dhaka District, Bangladesh
Project objective: To upskill deprived females and males aged 16-24 years old so that at
least 60% of target youth can get new or better decent jobs or build their own businesses by
2020.

Dear Mark T. Pierce,


Save the Children Federation, Inc initially intended to provide funds to Save the
Children International (SCI) in Bangladesh the amount of USD 1,449,187 (equivalent
BDT 113,391,444 based on most recent exchange rate estimates) to implement two
projects under the aforementioned program "Skills to Succeed-EYE". The two projects
are: (1) the 'Net Hope 2017 Device Challenge' and (2) the 'Collaboration for Durable
and Systemic Change for Youth Employment (Skills to Succeed Grant #5)".

Currently Save the Children Federation, Inc intends to increase the funding to
USD1,545,523 equivalent of BDT 128,431,431 to the said program.
Save the Children International (SCI) in Bangladesh will be responsible for implementing
this project period in order to achieve the goal. Under following results SCI’s activity
will included but not be limited to -

 Youth who complete skill training/services retain better employment 6 to 12 months


after completion
 Youth who complete training/services gain better employment (job,
internship/apprenticeship, self-employment) or continuing/returning to education by 6
months after completion
 Partner organizations (governments, NGOs, industry associations, employers, schools,
training centers) modify existing approaches or adopt new approaches based on
evidence generated by the program

 Programs continuously improve to ensure better outcomes for youth
 Partner organizations (governments, NGOs, industry associations, employers, schools,
training centers) adopt S2S approaches
 Firms improve workplaces.
 The research project will test the additional health and economic effects of the
proposed SRH component integrated into the program with a hypothesize that youth
who participate in the integrated program will exhibit better employability behaviours
and health outcomes that lead to youth being healthier and perform better on the job.

To implement this project, Save the Children Federation, Inc. hereby intends to provide
mentioned funds to Bangladesh country office, which will be based on the availability of
funds and does not serve as a legally binding agreement.
