Testing the SR-relay

It is difficult to test accurately the SR relay's rms current settings because the saturation of the
TMZ causes a lot of disturbance.
There are several ways to do a test:
1) Temporarily you may set RD11 at zero resistance , i.e. the red wire SEL: R ,S and T at the
back of the comparator 137 , may be connected to the terminals :
A1 , : A5 and : B1.
The total impedance of the diff circuit may be about 600 ohms ( including a 10 V drop due to
the full-wave rectifier at TMD secondary).
With SR setting 0.1 A the TMZ need not saturate and the result should be more accurate,
particularly if you include a large resistor at the tester's output
terminals. You may inject to the RTXP 18 test terminals : 3 and 15
The operation can be seen at the SR's LED. The DR + Trip will also operate

2) The most accurate test may be made if you go to the back of the measuring unit 162, and the
combiflex current terminal block 411 at the bottom left corner. The R , S and T-phase SR's have
terminals 141, 241 and 341 at one end , and the common neutral :15, at the other .
