St. John Baptiste de La Salle

Good Evening St. La Salle!

Your story has been an inspiration for all of us, students, who continue to walk with the
same vision and mission you had. As we continue our journey, we see that the world
has changed a lot, but the same issues that plagued the world continue to haunt us
today, and that we have come across new issues that need solving. We see that more
of our brothers have been struggling and that instead of progress, there has been a
regress in our society. Although this motivates us, your legacy, to do something and act
against that regress, it has been difficult for us especially since we are still students,
whose voices are not loud enough to exact concrete change. We know that changing
takes time and a systemic process, but we cannot sit idly and watch our brothers and
sisters clamor for help and justice as we study. The reality of it is that we cannot do
anything but enforce band aid solutions because we still do not have the influence and
power our elders do. This shadow of being helpless and powerless is really affecting our
mental health because we know that there are ways and there are methods to change
society. What I ask myself is that, for now, are we powerless? Are we going to watch in
the sidelines while others try to fight off the corruption and injustice in this world? I seek
answers with studies so that we can also influence our fellow youth to stand up and
revolt against the current norms of our society. I know that God has provided you with
everything that you need, and he has guided you through challenges you have faced. I
ask for your help and for your prayer as we continue our battles against the wickedness
of this world. I am seeking for your advice and your inspiration because I truly want to
help others and that, I do not want to wait until I am old enough to truly be able to help
others. And if reality is that it is not possible for someone as young as me to be heard, I
truly hope that those who need help can wait it out.

Sincerely,
