century

Nationalist Proposal
French Defeat Germany, take back Alsace-Lorraine, and restore French
leadership in the Eruopean continent.
German Unite the German people in Europe and build up a strong Germany.
Austro-Hungarian Preserve the territorial integrity of the Empire and expand into the
Balkan Peninsula.
Russian Unite the Slavs, and extend influence to Central Europe and the
Ottoman Empire.
Serb Unite all the Serbs in the Ottomaan Empire and Austria-Hungary to
form an independent state.

2. Nationalism promoted foreign expansion, which in turn caused conflicts among European

powers and led to war eventually.
