• Begins by observing the students’ TTPs, SOPs, and performance

 OCT Duties

• An OCT must be with the students at all times. This means that if they are doing a
mission, an OCT will be with every major maneuver element and an OCT covers the
G-base.

• Responsible for student safety / personnel accountability.

rotation, this will greatly assist for the final products and our own internal AAR.

1. Always exercise common sense and good judgment.

2. Know, understand, and enforce the Exercise Rules of Engagement (EXROE)
ทราบ เข้ าใจ และปฏิบัติตามกฎ EXROE
3. Be an expert in your field and be doctrinally correct. When in doubt, check appropriate doctrinal
references or your chain of command.

หลักการง่ายๆของ OCT
• When in charge, TAKE CHARGE! An OCT is invisible but always in control. Be where
you can observe and control. An OCT will not compromise student unit, or its location.

• An OCT is committed to providing the most realistic training. Realism is important;
enforce it vigorously. "Dead" Soldiers do not put themselves on evacuation vehicles or
share information. Ensure casualties are treated IAW EXROE. Don't identify OPFOR
leader casualties for the unit; let them figure it out on their own.

• An OCT does not influence the battle through subjective decisions based on emotion, but
rather, through both subjective and objective evaluations embedded in the spirit of the EXROE
and common sense. OCT จะไม่ ให้ การตัดสิ นใจทีเ่ ป็ นอัตวิสัยซึ่งตั้งอยู่บนความรู้ สึกมาส่ งอิทธิพลต่ อการสู้

• An OCT is obviously an expert in his field, but never pompous, overbearing, indecisive,
obnoxious or judgmental. Remember, we have all walked in the students’ boots. The student
sees all OCTs as experts, even if it is the OCTs first rotation. Be prepared by knowing EXROE
and doctrine; ask another OCT before giving an incorrect answer. DO NOT GUESS!

• An OCT must know what the unit leader is thinking and why the unit is doing
whatever it is doing. Don't guess or assume; ask point blank questions if necessary.
You must understand the unit leader's reasoning to judge a unit’s actions. Do not lead
the unit. Note when unit keys on the OCT for decisions the students should be making.
OCT จะต้องรู ้วา่ ผูน้ าํ หน่วยกําลังคิดอะไรอยู่ และทําไมหน่วยถึงปฏิบตั ิเช่นนั้น ห้ามเดาหรื อทึกทักไปเอง ถ้า
จําเป็ นก็ให้ถามนักเรี ยนไปเลยตรงๆ คุณจําเป็ นต้องเข้าใจเหตุผลของผูน้ าํ หน่วยก่อนที่จะทําการตัดสิ นการปฏิบตั ิของ
หน่วย ห้ามนําหน่วยเอง จงจดจําเมื่อนักเรี ยนอาศัย OCT เป็ นเบาะแสในการตัดสิ นใจแทนการตัดสิ นใจเอง
• Explain everything to the students in tactical terms. Avoid any administrative reasons.

• Do not assist the unit in tactical decisions. Emergency and safety situations which
require OCT assistance are exceptions.

• An OCT maintains high safety standards, understands risk management and
enforces safety

• An OCT always exercises noise and light discipline and polices the training area
aggressively.
OCT จะต้องควบคุมวินยั เรื่ องเสี ยงและแสงของตนอยูเ่ สมอ อีกทั้งยังต้องคอยตรวจตราบริ เวณพื้นที่ฝึกอย่างอย่างแข็งขัน
• An OCT understands and conforms to doctrine.
OCT ต้องเข้าใจและปฏิบตั ิตามหลักนิยม
• An OCT will never show how he feels about a particular team or individual student
through gesture or demeanor.
