Introduction

Sexual health is relevant throughout a person’s life. It addresses not only physical health, but
embraces a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships. Promoting safe sex
practices to University of Mindanao could assessed changes in students’ sexual health knowledge and
sexual behaviors. Using community-based strategy to promote safe sex practice at University of
Mindanao has been developed to counter the social issue specifically the increasing number of those
student who have been engaging in an unsafe sex practice. The study of (Zhenjia Ren et al. 2019)
shows that most students used condoms inconsistently during sexual intercourse (54.5 %) ang logistic
regression showed that condomless sex was associated with being raised by a single parent or others.

The aim of this action plan is to impart knowledge and share awareness to those students who
is the main subject of this action plan, and to reduce the risk of Sexually Transmitted Intercourse (STI)
because sex always involves some risk of STI’s, there is no such thing as completely safe sex, so
most expert prefer the term : safer sex practices (Villines, Z. (2002, April 29).What to know about safer
sex) Aside from getting the attention, we can also awaken the curiosity of these people who are part in
this community which is the University of Mindanao.

Community Profile

The key objective of this community engagement plan is to share awareness, and create
reliable information towards social issues. Specifically, the project pursues to respond to the following
objectives.

1. Safe sex practice project implementation using many formats, such as various media, group
discussions, and individual discussions.
2. Provide social media awareness activities and conduct sex education and counselling
among students.
3. With the prior mentioned assertion, the participant of the said project is from SHS students
which consists of estimated 480 students and 20 faculty members and is encouraged to
participate on the safe sex practices awareness.
4. Students engaging through diverse exercises will moreover promote awareness and knowledge in
terms of their learning.
