In other parts of the world, there are lots of celebration day but in Vietnam which is my country have a

special holiday called Tet. Tet essentially is a tradition that Vietnamese people do every new year.
People gather around with family and friends, wishing for a great start of the year with lots of luck. Here
is list of activities in Tet holiday which is a must do for any Vietnamese family. First up on the list is clean
your house. We have a thought that when you clean up the house, it’s like you clean up all of the bad
things that happen in the previous year so that you will have a fresh start of the year. Next is lucky
money. Giving out lucky money is a bridge to wish others best of luck, health and good fortune. It
wouldn’t be a Tet holiday without this staple food, Banh Chung. Banh Chung is a square shaped sticky
rice cake in it have green bean and pork. Banh Chung you can buy at a local market or if you fancy you
can try to make it by hand, sure that’s hard work but it can be loads of fun especially when you make
banh Chung with your family and friends. Last but not least is decorating the altar. Decorating the altar is
to express your gratitude and respect for the ancestors. Tet is a wonderful holiday in my country, im
proud to be a Vietnamese citizen and grateful for that.
